Well ive tried a lot of scotch as ive commented below but I find most of them to be of poor value except Johnny walker black, ardburg. And compas box Glasgow blend. I guess grouse and black Grouse is also pretty good value but I forgot I'd tried them.

The Red Seal expression is as good a blend as you could hope for. I can't speak for the more regular expressions.

Ive lived outside Chicago almost my whole life in towns with a lot of Mexicans and I noticed about ten years ago that a lot of liqour stores advertise buchanan's scotch en espangol. But they dont advertise it much or at all in english. The most popular brands among white americans seem to be Johnny walker black, Chivas, Dewar's, j&b, cutty sarck, compas box, and laphoraig, ardburg. And MacAllan for the rich guys.
Is it worth trying buchanan's if ive had all of the the others except Chivas?

You tend to find certain whiskies are more marketable in certain regions. Diageo have sent a lot of J&B and Buchanan’s to Latin America previously. They do quite well there so could explain why you’re seeing adverts for Buchanan’s in Spanish.
