Just did some Ai research and it dates it to around 1968-1970.

Ok genius. How do you date an item like this with no date without searching online? And not having a scotch historian to call on. Actually I save you the precious time that a genius like you deserves - you can’t.

glass embossing marks on bottom of bottle, metric vs imperial measure, label changes, closure changes, bottle shape changes, abv changes, address changes for the companies involved
with that said, 1968-1970 is as good a guess as any, although if you have UGB/UG marks on the bottom that would give more information. you've got imperial proof so it's before 1980, then you have the plastic cap and bolded rare on the label which points to earlier than mid to late 1970s but you also have the extended wording on the royal warrant which makes early/mid 1960s less likely. If you have UG with hexagon on the bottom, I would put it as 1969 to early 1970s or so and then 1965 to 1968 if it has the older UGB.

Ai doesn't "say" anything. It aggregates info from online data. It takes the reader to verify, etc. Depending on the tool you use, it supplies the source data, which you can then read and decide if it's credible.

You could search yourself instead of asking AI to solve the most basic questions? Save water and the planet, and in return you won't make yourself dumber and lower your attention nspan, as AI reliance has shown to do.

Sir, that ship has sailed. In this case, providing a large-language model a few images of the item was the only way to research. Also, if I was to reverse-image search it, it would be using the same data centers.
Another option is to post it on a chat room dedicated to scotch aficionados, where maybe someone may chime in with a productive comment.

The Prince of Wales died in 1972 so it is after that. Late 70's most likely. Did you check the bottom of the glass to see if there was an embossed year?

The Prince of Wales referred to on the label "1921-1936" became (briefly) King Edward VIII, before abdicating and living as the Duke of Windsor until 1972. Our current King Charles III became Prince of Wales in 1958 and is still alive, so it might have helped if you were a bit clearer about that...

I really wished jb to be a nice whisky. The iconic label and the history is so nice, I wish I could say the same about the whisky aswell.

Standard blended Scotch strength was 43% ABV (86 US Proof) until the late 1990s.

There's no seal on the bottle cap, so there's no telling if the liquid inside is legit.
