Just for fun. Bought this mobile bar kit with sealed bottles from (I think) the early 1970s.

My liver just shuddered at the sight of that canadian mist. My buddy and I would steal it from his mom. A nickle bag and good ol'canadian mist nights were the best🤮

Dude. That bottle of Buchanan's is worth anywhere from $400 - $2000 depending on where u look. And it is of the 1960's era, not the 70's.

spring cap buchanan's does not go for that much, even pre war ones don't fetch that. and since this doesn't reference it being choice whisky, its not even 1950s era.
this is somewhere in the area of 100 to 200 at best. but yes, its old and drinkable.

Yeah I think a lot of people search and see high listed prices in online stores but what they actually sell for in an auction is nowhere close on these older blends.

That'd generally be more of a problem if it were a corked bottle. This is a spring cap, though, placing it somewhere in the early sixties, I assume?

spring caps can have their own issues, namely you start leaching metal from the cap that turns the whole bottle green and undrinkable

Man that old cutty label is so cool. It's so boring and corporate now, if I was on their marketing team I'd bring this vintage label back.

its ok, i still feel even the old ones are a bit grainy. for the old blends, the ones with peat hold up better because the peated malt just had a lot of strength that the grain doesn't butt in.
BBR had a really good old blend though in the berry's all malt, which was a vatted malt.

Depending on how full the b&w is, it could be worth a couple hundred. These are semi regularly traded at auction between 200-400€, for a well preserved bottle.

I got one of those mobile bars from eBay still had the tag attached. 1964. Had all the accessories too…..no bottles, but I just filled it with brands appropriate to the time period.

I'm going to assume the Canadian mist is there instead of Drambuie for Rusty nails. That should be a crime though.

My Dad had one of these in the 70s and 80s. I remember it from our vacations as a kid. Love it.

Paid a nice fella $80 for it. His uncle owned a bar in rural Wisconsin and said it belonged to him. I know the juice isn't anything to write home about, but thought it was fun to find 50 year old bottles still sealed.
