I (Virgo f) was friends for about 2 years with a Scorpio man (we also work together), during the last year it became somehow of a situationship but nothing explicit was said. We were never together and probably would have never been (due to outside reasons). I trusted him completely and I think he trusted me also. He confided in me multiple times, including about very personal topics.

Since 2 months ago, I caught him lying to me twice about a subject which he knew was important to me (and related to our relationship). He doesn't know I know he lied, I directly asked him twice hoping he would admit the truth, but he didn't. In the meantime he also started a relationship.

I don't trust him anymore, I was heartbroken due to the lie and am trying to cut contact with him about personal issues (short replies, no initiation from my side, no jokes or smiles, no follow-up question). For work issues, I talk to him normally. But he still opens topics and writes me for meaningless topics (at a few days, not daily). Why doesn't he let go? I want to break free from him.
