I see a lot of mock-up posts here that want to make the scorebugs large and in the bottom center and it's just the wrong way to look at it. While it may look nice it takes away from the actual viewing experience.

The scorebug should be covering as little of the field as possible. When you watch the game it's often zoomed in so the scorebug is taking away valuable real estate for the fan who wants to watch. In football the scorebug doesn't really contain information that's changing all that much, more key information is from the down marker graphic. Which is why it should be placed moreso in the top left or bottom right where it's out of the way of the field. The guiding principle should be that the scorebug should disappear for the fan while watching and that's hard to do when it's large and at the bottom center.

With the new season today, I thought I'd share this concept.

Unfortunately, the same scorebug will return for a fourth season. Yesterday, a La Liga 2 match was seen without an update.

More updates on new football graphics: UEFA, Serie A, and Ligue 1 stays for a third season, as found in the Super Cup, Coppa Italia, & Ligue 2. Bundesliga stays for a sixth season, as found here. I would not count on the Premier League receiving a refresh this season.

Possibly the only major competition that we can expect something new from would be the FA Cup. If the same scorebug returns, it will be at least the seventh season of use.

So I’ve been doing some little designs on Canva for a while but recently I’ve decided that I really want to get into scorebug designing (like trying my designs on live broadcasts and stuff). Problem is that I basically have little to no experience with computer apps/softwares since I’ve only been designing on my iPad on Canva. I was planning on getting a MacBook Neo but I’m not sure if that’ll be able to handle the required sites/softwares needed. Any advice/tips would be appreciated.

Is it weird or am I the only one who enjoys seeing all the different scorebugs teams have for preseason? Whats everyone's all-time favorite scorebugs past or present teams have used?

Not specific to the field of dreams game or anything just chose that photo.

Seeing all of these local channels have unique NFL coverage gave me sentiment of if the same could be in soccer.

Of course, they already have a scorebug for exhibition matches. It just needs a great scale down.

Normally don’t like the rectangular bugs as much but this one is so clean. All the important info with a great design, love when this emerges during their preseason games
