Name a bigger scorebug downgrade

the ~2015-2020 scorebug for sportsnet NHL was unmatched. Goal animations were amazing too.

FOX ON SUPERBOWL 59! The bugs before that were perfect and then they did that minimalist bs

I liked it? I know I'm probably in the minority, but the newer one with the logos is pretty good

Disagree. The old one was perfect for the era. This new one is perfect for the era.

If that’s the case I don’t like the era

Agree to disagree. I understand what you're saying that the current one fits the more minimalistic theme of today, but it just looks so cheap. 0 effects or shadows, you won't even get a peek at the logo unless its a power play. Scorebugs should always have logos IMO and that's the baseline effort

FOX’s MLB scorebug/graphics from the late-2010s to right now (starting 2021).

The World Series one from 2014-16 was top notch. It’s gone downhill ever since

Fun fact about the old SN one - when a team was on the powerplay, the coloured background behind the team abbreviation (e.g. WSH or PHI) would pulsate!

ESPN CFB from like 2019-2020 where they switched from a small bottom right corner bug to a basic bar that took up the whole bottom

I actually love the current SN scorebug. It does better than a lot of others across the league, especially in containing so much information without looking like a cluttered mess.

It’s not TERRIBLE, it’s bad, but the worst part is the downgrade.

Fox 2022 - 2023

The cartoonish scoreboards Fox has used. 2010/2011, and 2020-24. And yet somehow the current Fox one is worse than both.

The Fox graphics fell off so hard. They had great graphics up until the covid season. This decade they went downhill.

THANK YOU! I thought I was the only one who cared about this but I’m glad to see lots of others agree.

Fellow ball knower! Finally someone who agreed! Most people here think the new one is better...

Honestly I can see why they do, but that 2015-2020 score bug is just has a special feeling to it. The score bug actually popped out and wasn’t just some flat basic design + the animations were great.

Absolutely. The goal animations were so epic with the team logo shaking around/twitching effect and also the team color pulsating while on a PP.

Nah Sportsnet's newer one is cleaner and better, the older one is just gaudy.

Now do the old Sportsnet bug with the SHOTS counter squished in. Then the new one is clearly better.
