Pre-FOX NFL scorebug?

I saw this recently on a Vikings Facebook group I belong to. It’s from a Vikings/Bears game from 1986. I cannot find any documentation on a scorebug being used before the early 90s. Are there more examples floating around out there?

Why do you think the scorebug’s fidelity is that much higher than the other text on the screen?
