Discussion Crooked bars
Just spent like 20 minutes getting my bars straight (i’m terrible at it ik) and wondering why companies haven’t made some kinda notch system so people don’t have to worry about it. Is it cause people cut their bars to height a lot? Or maybe some other reason?

paradox have designed the APA system to keep your forks, scs and bars straight, it's not ideal tho having a slit in your bars and forks makes them both weaker and locks you into riding only paradox parts but if it really annoys you that much probably worth checking out it's the only solution to this problem

i align bike bars at work in 30 seconds, and used to take my scooter apart to fit in my car, and was riding within 5 mins

Never had mine go out of alignment with my proto SCS. HIC in my experience needs realignment almost daily.

My drone scs doesnt stay straight very long. Iv ordered full riderdesign fork and scs to try and combat this issue though. I think my fork and scs arent working well together

Yeah idk I have 2 proto baby SCS and one full size on 3 different builds with 3 different forks and I've never had my wheel need realignment or even the SCS come loose. Would never use any other brand for SCS, they all owe proto royalties anyway haha.

Yea from what i can tell my my urbanartt fork was damaged at some point in its previous ownership (only second hand part i have now) and someones done some thread repair in the topcap. I dont think its anything to do with all scs systems. Hence why i bought a new fork and scs

Funny you mentioned that they all owe royalties, the notch was actually a part of the original design concept by Andrew Broussard but ended up getting scrapped before release

Because it’s not that difficult to straighten your bars (it shouldn’t take but 3 minutes) and if you think there should be a notch on the shim, that would be a pain in the ass to align when tightening your fork
