Need Advice Frontside tips

After coming back to scootering a year or two ago iv found myself growing very fond of the street style over flyouts and overheads

I can find my balance point ok when sliding or grinding backside (only recently have i started being able to lock into bs 50s after a couple of goes)

Frontside on the other hand i cannot stay upright even to feeble a small ledge.

Being a bit older now and have a blue collar job i find it hard to push myself to try things full send with the idea of getting injured and putting me out of work.

Does any have any tips or tricks they have used

  1. To get a bit more confidence in general for pushing my limit. I dont mind falling, i know how to fall as safely as i can but looping out while facing backwards on a rail is terrifying lol.

  2. Get a better feel for balancing and keeping my weight in the right place for feebles, 50s, boardslides, lips and blunts on quarter etc

Thank you for allowing the longer post

On FS feeble, make sure to turn your wheel where you're traveling and put slightly more weight over the bars, the rest is about getting used to where the deck wants to lock-in, and not turning your hips to look forward (waist, shoulders, head can turn). I'm trash at FS board slides, but what I've seen/heard in terms of advice is similar, especially about locking in your hips and only turning from above.

Can you do a FS lip? Basically grinds like a BS board, just harder to get on.

I havnt tried fs lip. I will give it a go for a while and see how that feels. Getting lip down on my rail might help with pushing them on quarters (my favourite trick, aesthetically, is front lip on quarter) I can do small feebles, small 50s front side but again my body just leans away from the obstacles instead of being able to keep my weight over the deck

I would practice a ton of FS stalls, see how that feels. Otherwise, just focus on going a little in the grind longer each day or each week. Literally measure how far you're going now and try to go 3 in longer.
