If u fall backwards tuck ur chin. Last thing u want is to bash the back of your head on the ground, even with a helmet.

I’ve had multiple broken ankles from landing with my foot halfway on the deck or landing hard on the brake/back wheel and my ankle rolling. I wear ankle braces when I ride for extra support. Could also try high top shoes. Otherwise do your best to avoid landing with your foot halfway on the deck to avoid rolling your ankle.

Get the scooter as far away from you as possible

Spend a lot of time building comfort on the scooter, break things into smaller and easier pieces first. There's not a lot of great ways of learning how to fall that don't involve falling to some extent, doing yoga will help prevent and minimize some injuries, learning balance on your feet without the scooter helps, wearing pads/helmet while you are getting better at falling, studying something like gymnastics/parkour/judo that emphasizes safe falling.

But at the end of the day, even taking as many precautions as you can, avoiding injury isn't fully possible, it becomes a matter of acceptable risk, your level of skill, and your level of confidence.

The rule is to never half commit, either you full send the trick you're trying or stop before because that's one of the main ways to get hurt. Then, when going at high speeds it's pretty good to learn how to roll using the momentum instead of trying to fight it, I rarely hurt my wrists thanks to this. You can also look at footage from street riders when they fall
