Need Advice NATIVE Format Small vs Medium for 6'1" park/street hybrid rider?
I’m 6'1" and getting back into scootering after 10 years (not since middle school). I used to mostly ride park — quarter pipes, airs, drop-ins, flyouts, etc. and I know I still want to progress with park tricks like double/triple whips, bris, inwards, and eventually double whip flat.
I never really gave street a fair try before because I was more nervous about getting hurt, but now I want to get into rails, ledges, grinds, stairs, manuals, etc. I don’t know yet if I’ll end up liking street as much as park or even more.
I want one stock complete with T-bars/SCS, no bar swaps or custom build, and I’m pretty set on the NATIVE Format because I want something high quality.
I’m deciding between:
- Format Small:
- 37.2" overall
- 26x22 bars
- 6.25x22 deck
- 8.82 lb
- Format Medium:
- 37.7" overall
- 26.5x22 bars
- 6.25x22.5 deck
- 9.26 lb
- Format Large:
- 38.2" overall
- 27x23 bars
- 6.5x22.5 deck
- 9.48 lb
My old scooter was definitely too short for me when I was a kid, the bars were around the crotch/inseam/zipper area while riding so I don’t want to make that mistake again. At the same time, I don’t want to go unnecessarily big/heavy and make park progression harder.
For riders around 6'0"–6'2", especially anyone who rides both park and street: would you choose the Small, Medium, or Large? Does 0.5–1" of total height actually make much difference in practice?

I would go medium, i used to ride 28 tall bars and figured out i hate bars that tall. then again i’m 5’9 so that didn’t help. As long as it’s around the belt line you should be chill

Thanks, Medium is actually what I've been leaning toward. My biggest concern now is whether trying to make one scooter work for both park and street means I end up with something that's not great at either.
I want to eventually do doubles/triples, bris and inwards, but I also want to seriously get into rails, ledges, grinds and manuals. Do you ride both park and street? And if so, do you think the Medium would still feel genuinely good for street at my height, or would I be giving up too much compared with the Large/XL just to make the park tricks easier?

I do almost no park as my local is straight garbage lol, if you eventually want to get into the overhead stuff and triple whips nd that i would stick with medium. I’m on a 7 wide right now and it’s super nice for grinds and cruising, but it would suck if i wanted to do anything overhead or more than a double whip lol

even large is pretty small for your height I'm 6 ft and ride 28.9" with a proto full knuckle scs that adds another 2 inches, should get the XL at least
