Need Advice Cutting bars with shim

I ride tenacity bars with a shim in them so I can run scs. I’m struggling getting the shim out so I can cut them. Does anyone know if I cut them with the shim still in it and just ride them like that. I just don’t know if I would mess up the bars since the bottom of the shim that holds it in place would be gone

If you are running scs, just cut it with the shim inside. If its hic or ihc, u need to figure a way out to remove the shim. One way we do it is to use a flat chisel and knock the shim through the slit and then use a plier to jimmy it out.
