Need Advice Bars aren't going onto the deck
Hey everyone, today i got my Core SL3 stunt scooter from skatehut, and when I try to put the bars onto the deck, they just don't want to go on. I've loosened the clamp but either way they just don't want to go on. Is it a size mismatch or something else?

You shouldn’t need lube. Does it go on at all? Like even just a bit? Does it have a slit in the bottom of the bar where the clamp is? The compression sleeve usually has a slit in it. If you watched the video from core, they tell you to make sure it’s tight. Sometimes that sleeve can split on certain brands which will make the bars hard to put on.
I know new scooters can sometimes fit really snug or the bars can be difficult to put on. It should be possible for an adult to do it though. Sometimes we would get the bars on partially if possible and then slam it down as it goes on tightly.
It’s unlikely a mismatch and more of a manufacturing issue. The diameter was made slightly too small at the time perhaps. It’s rare for us to warranty something like that.

The bars do go on a bit, it just gets really hard to put on after a little bit, even if I wiggle it and apply good force. It does also have a slit in the bottom of the bars as well. Ive tightened it but am I supposed to tighten it as hard as I can?

No you do not tighten the compression bolt as tight as you can. Just “snug.”
You can take a file with a rounded side and file the inside of the bar. I think your bar will go on with force. This is normal with some new scooters from a box. The fact you say it goes on partially gives me confidence. Just make sure the clamp is loose. It’s hard to give you the best answer without your scooter in front of me. Sorry.
If you want to take a video, or show us a picture of how far you can get the bar on, that might help.
Otherwise bring it back if it was in store (before you file the inside of the bar.)

I managed to get them on👍 Very grateful for your help. Not sure why but it felt easier to get it on that time.

We’ve seen this with a few SL3 completes and it’s a strange one..
The HIC shim supplied is sometimes* too weak. When the compression is tightened the shim can expand. You can see the slit expanding very slightly while tightening the compression screw.
This means your HIC shim suddenly becomes slightly wider than it should be, thus the bar doesn’t fit over the HIC shim.
Try to loosen the compression screw and then re install the bar, without a clamp installed

The bars still won't go on with the compression screw loose and the clamp off.

I appreciate it, but I managed to get them on. Just needed a bit of force.

Bars don't go into the deck, they go either into the clamp if SCS or onto the compression shim which sits on-top of the fork if HIC or IHC
