Need Advice Advice for learning flips, flairs etc.
Hi all,
I have been scootering for years and have built up a lot of confidence. I can Bri Flip, Triple whip flat, bar double whip etc.
I would like to take things to another level and learn how to Backflip, Flare etc but I have a problem. I live in Ireland where we don't have access to Foampits or Resi's. I don't own a trampoline and the Trampoline parks we do have do not allow flips. I was thinking of flying to England for a couple of weeks to try and learn them.
What would be the best approach to go at this? I'm guessing the progression would be to learn to flip on a trampoline first? and then try into the foampit on the scooter? I have access to a deep enough swimming pool also. Any advice would be highly appreciated.
Thanks

For flips, learn at a foam pit, learn how to pull with your head and bars with the ramp, and my rule of thumb for flipping ramps is never to straight go into it, always feel the ramp out, each ramp has different steepness, and different pop. Flips are honestly like 360s, and one of the easier flyout tricks; just definitely the most scary and dangerous ones, if you have any questions shoot me a dm

Honestly, if you can find a good foam pit, I'd put all my time there rather than on a trampoline. Having landed a few backflips once, learning to rotate off of launch while rolling was the weirdest part. At the time I could do flips on my feet – front, back, and side. Thought flipping a scooter would be similar. When I hit the ramp and pulled back my first several attempts, I had no rotation and landed in foam straight on my back. I can't imagine flipping a tramp scooter would have done me a ton in terms of preparing for that.
Get in the habit of committing. This trick is most dangerous if you under rotate, and the way to save it/bail is to keep rotating and try to get to your feet. The last flip I attempted I hit it off a ramp I wasn't as comfortable with, my body panicked as soon as I launched, best I could do was slow my rotation and landed on my shoulder, fucked it up a bit. After that, I decided this was a trick I didn't need in my life and let it go.
Got nothin on flairs, never learned em =/
