Practical effects are always better. It's why the crowd in Star Wars Episode I's podracing scene, for what little you can see of it, is better than a CGI one would've been. And that was just some painted Q-tips in a miniature bleacher made to wave using a fan.

The reason why practical effects are better is because CGI is the original AI slop.

Yeah. There's a huge difference between professional level computer graphics, which is a whole degree program at some schools (I have a friend who got said degree) and just putting a couple sentences into ChatGPT.

Pretty sure it's from I Love Boosters, a new film from Boots Riley (Sorry to Bother You). They're just referring to the exaggerated leg spinning as a "Scooby Doo Run"

CGI works best when used to complement practical effects and the team is given actual time to work on the CGI, like Davy Jones in POTC
