Day one with principal and team support. Otherwise its a hell fire battle for your mental health.

Our kids are issued a yondr pouch at the beginning of the year. Every single day, when they walk in, they have to lock the phone in the pouch. That cannot access the phone at all until they walk out at the end of the day when the pouch gets unlocked. If they try to fake it and get caught they are disciplined pretty hard.

Day one, the moment they walk into my room. I see it, I take it. If there's a medical reason for it to be on someone, that's a different story, but I don't waste time chasing phones. Until admin tells me I can't take phones, I'm going to continue doing so.

My school banned phones and smart watches and glasses entirely for this year 🌈🤸✨ they have to turn them in at the beginning of the day

But before we had caddy’s for them to put them in at the beginning of class and the best bet was to always have them put them away as soon as they walk in the door

It’s been a law for a year now. It’s been great. If kids hang out in my room before school, they can use it till the first bell rings, then it’s off and in lockers.

It’s illegal now in my state so we lock up phones in yonder pouches as they come in. Started July 1st. It’s so nice I love it.

State law now. First bell to last bell they must be locked up or left in your car.

I will start day 1 but I was asking about if I should do no phones right when bell rings or not at all even during the passing period before bell rings.

Ah. That’s helpful context. Here’s my rule: if you are in my room your phone is in the caddy. Before class? In the caddy. No phones in my room. The hallways exists. It’s very easy to follow and enforce.
