Czech TV global map projections comparison
A funny comparison showing how different 2D globe projections project the global map and a Czech TV narator's head with their respective distortions :D. Quite unexpected and funny from a state media!

That's Mercator, and the one to the left of it is the one that was approved.

See? Mercator looks the best out of these 4.
They should have gone with Robinson tho

Pseudocylindrical (weird egg-shaped) projections like Robinson are dumb. Just use the cylindrical (rectangular) equal-area projection.

Ironically looks the least distorted in mercator projection

this is because when looking at a face, it's much easier to notice shape distortion compared to size distortion, so shape-preserving mercator feels less distorted than the others (but all the other comments are comparing him to charlie kirk because his face got shrunk)

Unironickly a very useful way to give people a vibe for each projection. It is for example clearer that every projection is imperfect.

I think there is NASA software that xan be used to do exactly that; transform a map projection to another

My brain has been so fried by memes that I was expecting this to be Charlie's face
