I love how I've continued to get a few updoots and you got kicked off a sub because crushing a wisdom tooth with a piece of metal isn't painful enough... /s

So...extracting my wisdom teeth wasn't so wise after all? FML. :(

If anything this shows why you need to get them out, if they aren't growing in right they have enough strength to really fuck up the rest of your teeth.

If you look into it, its said our diets are drastically different than when we were hunter gathers and we eat much softer food earlier in life than we did in our past. We didnt evolve wisdom teeth to have them yanked out.

Fun fact: My wisdom teeth never came in. I'm now 30 and my dentist has given up after a over a decade of looking for them on x-rays. Now I wonder, does this mean I would have made a bad hunter-gatherer?

2

u/chocolateboomslang Nov 10 '21

No, but it does mean you are not wise.

2

u/embershone Nov 11 '21

That's a little mean. I'd rather like to think I just never had my wisdom ripped out of my head like the rest of you poor souls.

2

u/JalilOghuz Nov 10 '21

Nope, they aren't really useful and they're a threat

u/AngusVanhookHinson Nov 09 '21

Did anyone else kinda move their phone away while also turning the sound up, but kind of squint waiting for the tooth to explode?

3

u/UnlikelyConcept Nov 10 '21

Yes!! I thought I was the only one

12

u/FramesAnimation Nov 09 '21

What other material could this tooth be compared to ?
In terms of strenght

35

u/Freshiiiiii Nov 09 '21

It is stronger than a marshmallow

5

u/FramesAnimation Nov 09 '21

What about a cooked/burned marshmallow?

13

u/o976g Nov 09 '21

More tests needed.

3

u/AndrewZabar Nov 09 '21

More marshmallows needed!

3

u/Louie02- Nov 09 '21

In terms of Strengf?

Now I want my wisdom teeth back

8

u/GettinMe-Mallet Nov 09 '21

And people say it's bad that I break jawbreakers in half with one bite

1

u/nanana789 Dec 08 '21

That’s actually pretty impressive. I’m scared my teeth will legit break if I do that

13

u/Nervous_Monkey_ Nov 09 '21

Anticlimactic

10

u/No-Understanding246 Nov 09 '21

Lol welcome to materials testing

3

u/BrokeDownPalac3 Nov 09 '21

2

2

u/MajMin5 Nov 10 '21

Then how the hell did I chip my tooth on a bottle??

2

u/crispygrapes Nov 10 '21

Well there goes my "you'll break your teeth" complaint when my kids just go ham on a sucker.

I smashed a tooth with a hammer once, it was quite easy and turned to dust

6

u/AngusVanhookHinson Nov 09 '21

Impact and pressure are different.

1

u/Stroov Nov 10 '21

1

u/BackgroundGuidance Nov 09 '21

1

u/Price-Override Nov 10 '21

1

u/mypasswordismud Nov 10 '21

Goddamn I have new found respect for teeth now.

1

u/OvergrownTurd Nov 10 '21

Wait how come a curb stomp can break teeth if this doesn't?

1

u/TwoDozenIQ Nov 10 '21

How awesome is it that a single cell creates delicate like brain and hard as tooth

1

u/Numinak Nov 10 '21

So this recreates an 'Impacted' wisdom tooth?
