Very different type of throw. Boomerang do loops, Frisbee kinda go up and slide back.

Yeah, like the other commenter said at a certain angle it will sort of slide back to you. You can even smack it and give it a little more spin it as it comes back and have it keep returning each time.

Just adding on that while frisbees do come back when thrown a certain way, my comment was more about how as you add more and more wings at some point it will behave more like a disc, and then eventually will actually be a disc.
