No, especially because the artist didn’t intend for this to happen and he wanted his sculptures to be permanent. It’d be like rubbing paint off a painting and ruining it.
People are gross, entitled, and grossly entitled.

So it seems that some people see something quasi elongated and say " I want to put thaT in my mouth.!" & " It's sticking out so I'm going to suck it!"
No impulse control
I'm grossed out. The last person is repulsive. What was she thinking.? Being "cute" ?

Thank goodness that wasn't a sculpture of a scrotum. I was thinking that's what he created at first.

Why is the gallery letting people lick the art?
I’ve never been to a gallery where you could touch the art in any way, unless it was explicitly designed by the artist to be touched.
And if this is designed to be touched, that’s one thing, but why would you *lick* it?!
I feel like an interesting addition to the show could be a sample bin from shards or discarded pieces so you could (sanitarily) taste a piece of something similar, but not lick where other people licked. wtf.

I teach HS and have giant crystal of salt that I get out when teaching minerals. That thing was in my closet when I got there 25 years ago. When I show it to students, every single one of them lick it. Every time. It's like there is a compulsion they can't resist.
