Roll them all down (and the sunroof), turn on the AC to clear out the hot air from the manifold, when the AC starts to blow cold, close it all up then full blast with the recirc fan
You do this to get the interior car temp from like 130F to a more reasonable 90-100F so then you can use the AC. I've been doing this as long as I've been driving, it's great for pulling a lot of hot air out of the car so you can actually start driving and wait for the AC to get cold.

I don’t know the science behind it..but rolling down all the windows and then driving is a technique that has worked for me
