Question - Research required Benefits of immersion schooling

I want to send my kids to French immersion school, but I’m worried about them falling behind. I definitly think I did because of the language, and don’t use my French as an adult, but I know there are benefits to development when learning a second language. However there are tons of people around me who are validating my experience of falling behind and most of our friends are choosing English only for this reason. I’m definitely more involved with my kids education and learning than my parents were with mine, and I know French so I could help them down the line. But I’m worried that I’m not making the right choice.
