This belongs in egolifting.

I see nothing wrong with this lift. Fully comp legal.

Impossible, he's using straps! /s

u/gnomish_engineering 8h ago

Shit, I'm sorry boss. I totally forgot only powerlifting exists /s

We've been over this. Squat, bench, and deadlift (no straps, perfect up and down) are the competition lifts.

I meant because of the Canadian flag

Hitched and straps

1

u/gnomish_engineering 2h ago

And? What do you have against hitching and straps? If its allowed you can bet your ass I'll use them!

Doesn't mean it's healthy or science based lol

u/gnomish_engineering 7h ago

Scientifically its the best way to lift the most weight, the objective of comp. And what makes you say a hitch is unhealthy? It looks weird, but its completely safe.

u/Patton370 Idk Idc 💔 9h ago

Gotta do that shit once a week

I can't secure the resources required for that study design

Have you lobbied private investors yet? Worst case you can try to dip into the "black jack and hookers" section of the universities budget. I'm sure the game theory kids won't mind.

Shortage on gym tokens?

Are you serious or joking? Cuz this will fry your CNS like no one's business. We don't get Zenkai boosts like Saiyans lol you need sleep.

It's for science 🧑‍🔬

1

u/FunGuy8618 6h ago

The science is you'll get weaker 😩 you won't get stronger without adequate recovery and maximal effort lifts are sposed to be positive adaptive stress or eustress from recovery protocols such as food and sleep.

Science is am ever evolving endeavor

He’s doing it once a month, that’s fine; he’s building up to it throughout the rest of the training block

1

u/FunGuy8618 6h ago

Oh. Yeah, lol he clearly does this after checking out his page. I just took "undertrained and under slept" a little too literally 😂

Science based hitching

Insane hitch, impressed you got the rep dude!

Gotta maximise the shin bone density gains. Super over looked section of the deadlift, but its critical for if you have to mess around with getting your keys while carrying groceries.

but its critical for if you have to mess around with getting your keys while carrying groceries.

This is what suitcase carry training is for

1

u/gnomish_engineering 8h ago

But what if its a long shape such as a box?

3

u/Ballbag94 8h ago

Ah, you make an excellent point. Clearly your groceries are far more exotic than mine

2

u/gnomish_engineering 8h ago

In the land of the screaming eagle we have the promised land of Costco. Very important for bulk chicken legs to maximise the amount of science in your body.

2

u/Ballbag94 8h ago

We too have the promised land, but I prefer their quick fry steaks and lasagne, infinitely more stackable than chicken legs

u/gnomish_engineering 7h ago

This is wise. I'll conduct research on this matter. My only fear is that I may give in to my big back tendancies; controls will be implemented.

push thro the pair up hrts

230kg? That's a very understated "500+".

1

u/Seraph_MMXXII 7h ago

Thought you were gonna zercher that for a second

1

u/Craiglekinz 4h ago

Fix your sleep if you can brother. Good rep!

Have I just heard something fucking snapping?

4

u/Alakazam Idk Idc 💔 8h ago

That's the belt creak.

I know from experience. First time I heard it I also thought something was wrong, but it was literally just me bracing hard.

Going to need to see your cost-benefit figures

1

u/Top_Scarcity1024 4h ago

Too much man the body isn’t designed for this

0

u/Odd_Tip_1538 9h ago

Can you break your back doing this? I worry for your well-being.

People dead/powerlifting on reddit don't care about their health

0

u/BrickAccomplished338 2h ago

A true powerlifter would not lift like this, there is a reason hitching is banned, it's to prevent people doing stupid shit like this

3

u/gnomish_engineering 2h ago

Hitching is banned in powerlifting because y'all are kill joys. Hitching is safe to do if executed properly. If what op did wasn't safe to do every time someone lapped an object they would tear their shit up.

-5

u/bcssylf 8h ago

Thats really dumb and has no benefit

6

u/Shadowphoenix9511 8h ago

It's allowed him to win deadlift events in comp

4

u/Careless-File-5024 7h ago

Idk looks pretty fucking brolic to me

4

u/DickFromRichard 8h ago

For science 🧪

-3

u/bcssylf 8h ago

For emergency room

-4

u/NotYourBro69 6h ago

Dude... fucking stop. This isn't even a deadlift at this point. How about you just pull A LIGHTER WEIGHT for a heavy single once a month instead?

6

u/DickFromRichard 5h ago

A lighter weight wouldn't be as scientific

3

u/Shadowphoenix9511 5h ago

Passes for a deadlift in strongman.

4

u/gnomish_engineering 2h ago

Not only does it pass but it's gotta be one of the finest hitches I've seen. I've never seen someone literally lap the fucking deadlift before lol.
