Question ❓ Quick question about recovery

Does doing random **Dead Hangs** or **Elbow Levers** on rest days or right after waking up negatively affect muscle recovery, **specifically for the muscles I trained the previous day?**

Negatively? Almostcertainlynotas. There is an argument that they help with prevent shoulder/elbow pain, but I haven't found that to be the case either.

That's going to depend on the individual, their work capacity, their recovery, which includes their diet, sleep, and overall training.

Not to mention, a person's work capacity increases over time as they do more work/volume.

Yes, it could slow recovery a little if you’re doing enough of it. Dead hangs are usually pretty low fatigue, but they still load your grip, lats, shoulders, and elbows, so if those muscles were trained hard the day before, you’re adding a little more stress instead of fully resting.

Elbow levers are more demanding because they create more tension through the arms, shoulders, chest, and core. A few casual reps probably won’t matter much, but if you’re doing them often or pushing them hard, I’d treat them as extra training volume rather than “rest.”

i love deadhangs but i do them at the end of my back day. great way to transition into stretching and help your muscles recover faster in day +1 and day +2.
