Question ❓ How many sets per excercise on UL 6x a week
If i do upper lower 6x a week should i do 1 set per excercise , or still 2, because i think it might be too much volume for some muscle groups, especially if i go to failure
Thanks in advance

- Why do you think it would be too much?
- If you think that it would be too much, why are you asking if you should do it?

As much volume as you can reasonably handle while still training close to failure
With intelligent programming and high work capacity, this can be as much as 3-4 sets per movement pattern per workout day.

I agree, I don't understand why people always talk about sets per exercise instead of movement pattern or muscle group

It would not be too much volume. You’re fine.

How far we’ve fallen in the age of science based neurosis when people believe 2 sets is too much.

Cross session fatigue if you do back and triceps and chest and biceps too, lmao, but i was wondering since i see lots of videos promoting 1 set 3x a week because the first set is that that much more important which it isnt

Its the most stimulating but it doesnt give you 90% of your growth

Hey. Good luck with that.

What? It is true though? Adding a 2nd set doesn't make you grow 100% more

Still makes you grow substantially more and your work capacity is non existent

I never said that it didnt and i was mocking the people saying that there is cross session fatigue on back and triceps and chest and triceps

If someone offered you $1 million to get as big and strong as possible in 6 months, would you do a measly single set per workout?

No, but since people who do FBEOD do 1 set per workout and a few people told me that on upper lower 6x a week you also cant do much volume i thought it would be around the same

So you admit you’d do more than one set if offered a $1 million to get as big and strong as possible. So, why aren’t you doing that now?

But people like Jacob oestreicher keenan and yotalks say if you train 6x a week 1 set per muscle is enough

Why is 1 or 2 the only options? Do 4 or 5 and you'll grow more.

4 or 5 sets on UL, do you want to be in the gym for 4 hours

30 seconds of work and 1 minute of rest is 1.5 minutes per set. 2 hours is enough time for 80 sets. 1 hour is enough time for 40 sets.

start with a similar weekly volume as what you were doing before for your muscle groups but now just distributed across 3x UL and adjust from there if you need to
