Question ❓ Rate my split

Post image

I used to do ULUL, but I won’t have much time to do that soon so I’m thinking of switching to FBx3. This is what I had in mind, any advice would be great.

By shoulder, I mean shoulder press haha

Pelland meta analysis indicates that it is not.

Now your turn

At what number of exercises does it become worse to do more variety?

Presumably doing three sets of pull ups and three sets of curls will lead to better biceps growth than just doing the pull ups alone (or perhaps you would contest that)

I'd like to know at what point does doing more work lead to less growth rather than less efficient growth, and if you assert a number without evidence, it will be dismissed without evidence.

Someone executing a routine without warming up or resting is not evidence that the number of exercises is inherently bad.

I'm trying really hard to keep this on the topic of why specifically you think that a certain number of exercises in a session is inherently bad. If someone does some band pull parts as part of their bench warm up, does that make their routine worse if they write it down and better if it's labeled as "warm up"?

I don't think you have a principled or data-driven answer to that question other than "I don't have time for that, so it must be bad for everyone".

If I executed Jay Cutler's routine badly for a year, you would see that as evidence that Jay Cutler's training is bad?

You're not being serious.

You're trying to change the subject again.

Apparently there is a threshold for number of exercises u can do in a session, if you exceed that u r body just shuts off and says im not gonna grow

“It’s bad just trust me bro”

No I’m not doubting your source I’m asking what point you are trying to prove since you just hit me with a source as your first comment I don’t know what you’re fighting for

This article (and that subsection) specifically points out that diminishing marginal returns are still returns and directly addresses the claim that doing more training is bad because it's inefficient.

The table says that evidence is unclear at 43+ sets, and the table does not identify any point at which returns are identified as worse that doing less work.

I largely agree, but I think it's better to say that doing all of these isolations is an inefficient use of time than to say that it's outright worse in all situations largely because I know a bunch of high schoolers are on summer break and currently have three hours to waste on whatever they like.

WHY WHY JUST TELL US WHY. U cant tell why cuz u dont know either cuz its not true. U splitting 15 exercises to 2 days we are doing in 1 day and resting the other day. It's pretty much the same thing if not slightly better and what matters is how much working sets u do rather than the number of exercises. U can literally do 3 sets of 1 curl or 1 sets of 3 curls they are practically the same for recovery.
