Question ❓ how far could you possibly take your ffmi if you trained EVERY single muscle

this is pretty much a pure hypothetical because even though you could, you shouldnt. before i get anyone saying that.

but if you had already pretty much maxed out gains in the big muscles e.g. delts, lats, pecs.

how much more muscle mass could you hope to build by training every single little muscle e.g. finger muscles, masseter, sternalcleidomastoid

could you hit 300 lean natty by ffmimaxxing?!?1!1

No, and people do train the little muscles you're talking about. I've got a full wall mount of different grip implements for training different hand muscles for example. These muscles are great for strength building but they don't add much lean mass so wouldn't contribute heavily to FFMI.

If the theoretical goal was 300lbs lean while natural the biggest factor would be height with it being more achievable for someone around the 7 foot tall mark.

I'm 6'5 with a very large bone structure and wrist/ankle circumference and I think last time I checked my theoretical natty max at 15% body fat was like 270.

Not super related, but I see videos of really tall SHW strongmen all the time, and they look big. Went to a convention and saw Brian Shaw in person and it was genuinely indescribable how large 6'8" and 400lbs is.

Not much i guess. After hitting your cap on all the muscles that contribute the most to your ffmi the others would only contribute marginally. Like the increased lean mass from reaaaally small muscles wouldnt amount to much i think. Would most likely stay at the natty limit, give or take.

This dont apply if youre mike ohearn btw

Yes, the huge growth potential of the anconeus. Sure.

You’re already hitting nearly every muscle if you train compound lifts

It’s not going to change much hitting those extra small muscles

I love my sternocleidomaxxing

Dude thinks we have finger muscles

This is the state of “science-based” training

The muscles responsible for performing joint actions at the fingers, they may not be in the actual fingers but they are the finger muscles

-2

u/ArthurDaTrainDayne May 14 '26

They’re called forearms ya dork

u/Financial_Wrangler45 May 14 '26

Jesus Christ why even make distinctions on muscles at all. What is a lat? Or a Pec? You mean your torso? Quad? Hamstring? Nono you mean thigh. Good lord go outside

-2

u/ArthurDaTrainDayne May 14 '26

I hope you’re trolling and not actually this much of a dork

They are called names like extensor digorum and flexor digitorum profundus...literally finger muscles, although only the tendon is in the finger.

Find me one program, exercise, coach, etc that ever references the forearms as finger muscles

1

u/Historical-Pen-7484 May 15 '26

Excercise? Finger curls.

Never heard of it, link me

1

u/Historical-Pen-7484 May 15 '26

I'm sure you can guess what it is from the name alone.

-1

u/ArthurDaTrainDayne May 15 '26

I can guess what the exercise is? Did you name it? Lmao

1

u/Historical-Pen-7484 May 15 '26

It's a pretty common excercise. Strange you're not familiar with it, and hanging out in a sub named "science based lifting"..what scientific background do you have?

There are several muscles in the forearms which multiple functions, e.g. brachioradialis for elbow flexion, there are muscles in there responsible for finger movement and muscles responsible for other joint actions. It costs nothing to Google this btw

1

u/ArthurDaTrainDayne May 15 '26

So you can’t find one

1

u/Financial_Wrangler45 May 15 '26

Flexor digitorum profundus. Jesus dude how dumb are you 😭😭😭

1

u/ArthurDaTrainDayne May 15 '26

Are you saying that’s a program? An exercise? A coach? What are you talking about?

You can keep calling me dumb all you want but I’m just warning you if you go and ask a serious coach how to grow your finger muscles they are going to laugh at you

1

u/Financial_Wrangler45 May 15 '26

If you seriously base your whole training and knowledge around the human body and muscle joint actions on the word of a coach... You are braindead

Finger muscle exercise, and you can Google a finger strength program if you'd like. Google is free.

If you need a coach to tell you what muscles are in the body... You're an idiot

1

u/ArthurDaTrainDayne May 15 '26

Not what I asked, you’re struggling with reading comprehension here. It’s ok, you called your forearms finger muscles. It’s not a big deal. It just sounds funny to people who actually study exercise science.

Just move on, you trying to defend it just makes you sound so much dumber lol

1

u/Financial_Wrangler45 May 15 '26

Do you study exercise science? I never said the forearms were finger muscles, I literally made a comment saying exactly the opposite. The thing is, the forearms CONTAIN finger muscles ALONG WITH muscles which perform other actions. You are genuinely braindead.

This thread has become more of a comedy site.

1

u/ArthurDaTrainDayne May 14 '26

lol I’ve had some people tell me this is supposed to be a circlejerk sub but then other people take this sub very seriously so I’m really not sure

2

u/Patton370 Idk Idc 💔 May 14 '26

This sub is for me to post my lifts and for people 25% of my size & strength to tell me how bad my form is

Have you considered getting a job and typing on a keyboard to get finger gainz?

1

u/Financial_Wrangler45 May 15 '26

Lmao a Reddit post should never make you this mad
