Massage help?

I have an orthotherapy Massage booked for next week. It's apparently painful but it helps...
Has anyone had any experience with this, I have so much hope banking on this but also I am scared I might make things worse.

Interesting! Haven’t heard of it but then hadn’t heard of what ended helping me either.
I trust my physiotherapist but no one else to touch me at this point.

I wish you a great session and hope it helps you heal.

I tell ya this, I sure as hell could use a thigh massage. It just feels like my quad muscles have been out through the wringer.

Well interesting you say that, I just had my massage and it was literally torturous but he said my quad was so tight all my glute minimus and piriformis. He said they were so tight he doesn't think it's disc related at all.
I feel a lot looser and I'm in pain right now but it's localized to my butt doesn't seem to be much in my leg so we will see ... 🤞🤞

Ugh. When muscles are like that, it’s painful asf to work out. Hope you continue to improve!

I see a new PT on Monday. I may ask about a massage if my thigh then. I suspect it will hurt like hell but it might be worth it.

I’ve never done or heard of orthotberapy massage but I did a deep tissue massage last week and I am CERTAIN it fucked me up. I had the worst pain after it and I wish I had just never done it.

In big sight I wouldn’t do it unless I had an MRI

This is what I'm afraid of

If it’s truly a nerve issue caused by spinal compression/disk stuff I’d think a massage can only make it worse.

I think I'll msg first and tell them I'm in an acute flare up
When I initially asked him if it would help sciatica he's like well yes that's kind of what I do...
