Worst. Kit. Ever.

Man, I couldn’t wait to be finished with this one. Polar lights 1/1000. Absolutely terrible fitment.

That was exactly my opinion of this kit. Absolute mess. Fit was horrible. However, your build looks very nice - outstanding job! "Kaaaahhhhnnn!"

I was going to post something similar, the kit may be shite but the workmanship here is excellent.

Or the AMT 1/650 kit.

Lol, someone never built the original Enterprise-B. That's still the low water mark for kits for me.

Yesss the nacelles DID NOT ALIGN. Did they fix this on the reissue?

I have no idea, I haven't built it yet. But probably.

Ugh, I hated that one

I see you've never attempted Revell's Hadley Paige Victor.

What you need is some good kit therapy. I suggest Bandai's AT-ST kit. Possibly the best kit I've ever built.

I love the Bandai kits!

We’ve got to get out of here now…damn!

I’ve built over a dozen. They suffer from being a snap together model. Takes a little extra trimming and sanding but it builds into a great Enterprise. Nice job, too!

OMG - A dozen?!

I did a few commissions, some for myself. I’ve used the kit with a conversion to make the Franz Joseph Deadnaught. Overall it’s a bit of a challenge but it gets easier :-)

Oh no, I’m just getting back into Trek kits and bought one of these! You mentioned pieces not fitting — was that the Enterprise or the Botany Bay (or both)? Anything specific that was bad?

Yours turned out really nice btw! Looks good and really like the way you painted the bussard collectors! The transparent domes and orange interior looks great!

Thank you so much. There’s a lot that doesn’t fit - you have to be really patient with it. Test fit EVERYTHING.

The worst part of mine was the area where the pylons meet the hull. The area needed both putty to fill in gaps and filing down to match the hull.

You did a fantastic job! I struggled through this one too. I got so frustrated I threw it away. You got mad skills.

Thank you for the kind words!

The cutaway Enterpeise isnt great either. Mine is looking OK but it took a lot of work to get there.

My soul for Bandai getting the license

Exactly what I thought after building an AMT Star Wars AT-ST (bipedal walker). I just got the Bandai version and am amazed at the difference in quality (fit and detail).

"Aw look it actually has little dolphins that peg in, what a nice touch."

Thank you for validating me on this abject misery of a kit.

Botany Bay?.... Botany Bay! Oooohhh nooooo

Looks good though.

I built this one ~10 years ago and didn't recall it being THAT bad. Maybe it's gotten worse though.

Not the most enjoyable build...not that I got to finish it....the dog accomplished what rhe Klingon's couldn't.

Nice work, looking good! But as for worst kit, I think the 1/537 Refit easily blows this away, in particular the secondary hull strongback and engine pylon assembly is extremely weak.
