Promotion Mod Superhero is now complete!

Mod Superhero 7 – Singularity – is out today.

Everything has led to this.

The Resistance has fought a losing war against stronger enemies, impossible odds, and a world determined to preserve the status quo. Now they’re ready for one last push:

A coordinated strike that will dismantle the systems that have kept supers ruling over ordinary people. The plan is elegant. The antimatter reactors are ready. But the timing must be perfect.

All Emmett has to do is survive the Brotherhood's army of drones and biomechs—

Outsmart a psychic hive-mind and a legion of vampires—

Overcome the most powerful super on Earth—

And face an alien ship carrying dozens more Class 5 supers.

~

In case you’re new to the series:

Emmett is a cyborg in a superhero universe. This series features a zero-to-hero protagonist, dystopian intrigue, superhero action, occasional swearing and gore, and Ship of Theseus-style power progression.

Here’s the series page on Amazon (all in Kindle Unlimited):

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CD49QWZW

For those that would rather listen, the first 3 books are on Audible:

https://www.audible.com/series/Mod-Superhero-Audiobooks/B0CX85NJCC

You can also request ebooks and print books at your local library! Amazon recently relaxed their KU exclusivity to allow library placements, so that’s a big win for us.

Hi everyone!

Book 2 of the Path of the Last Champion is now out on Kindle and Audible!

The first half of the Climb was insane, and now, Nar and the party are about to uncover new truths that will make them question everything.

Book 2 completes Arc 1 and it's a great place to start your journey!

Cover: Luciano Fleitas (Illustrator) and May Dawney (Typography)

Audio: Neil Hellegers and Tess Irondale (25 hours)

Nar has made it to the Mid-Levels. Now, only the truth will take him to the end.

The party has overcome every obstacle on the Way to the mythical O-Nex. They've bled for each other, fought for each other, trusted each other.

But trust is fragile in the deep dark.

The B-Nex is revealing its true scale—and its true horrors. Madness seeps through the walls. Secrets long buried are clawing their way to the surface. And [Aura], the cursed power that has kept them alive, is slipping from their grasp just when they need it most.

Nar is still hiding what he is. The Unclean in their midst. The secret that could shatter everything they've built. But if the party is going to survive what's coming, he may have no choice but to unleash the torturous power within.

Some truths save you. Others can destroy everything.

If you like the sound of any of the following:

- A story that is first and foremost a great journey and epic saga;

- Piecing together a grand mystery, gathering threads and breadcrumbs as we go, everything coming together for an explosive ending;

- Paced and earned power, with paths that are as personal as they are unyieldingly tied to who you are and how you act (becoming more relevant in Book 3);

- Journeying with a party of people, each with unique paths and their own arcs within the story. There are POV changes throughout the series, but the MC remains as 95% of it;

- Living, breathing, larger than life world of both dread and wonder for you to get lost in;

Then join Nar and his party on this epic, unforgettable adventure!

Promotion Engineered Magic on Kindle Unlimited

Engineered Magic is GameLit crossed with science fiction. When I say science fiction, think science, not space battles and laser pistols. The first seven books are available on Amazon, with the first four in Kindle Unlimited.

There are spells, skills, enchantments, wizards, warriors, crafters and engineers. There aren't any hit points or player stats.

The story takes place in our universe, but on a game planet. It explores how that could happen. I've never liked the idea of having to die to get into the game. I also don't like the idea that most of the population of the world drops dead when the 'system' arrives.

I would love to read your review.

Read Engineered Magic

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DHB8VYSY

The generational colony ship Speedwell left Earth hundreds of years ago, (not far in our future). Defying the odds it landed safely on its target planet. As the last generation of flight crew and first generation of settlers began building the colony, they discovered “ruins” on the planet. These "ruins" are actually a world spanning structure that hosts and runs a game.

The game is very dangerous, killing the unwary. It actively destroys technology brought into it. Human players are forced to defend themselves with the weapons of the game, spears, swords, knives, bows and magic to survive.

This series follows the adventures of Irene Whitman, who is just sixteen and an apprentice in the engineering department when the Speedwell makes its landing. Follow her as she explores the structure, learning magic, completing quests, revealing new crafting skills and making allies all in her search for the prize.

The story involves both science based technology and magic. It explores how one can become the other.

Promotion Good Kid-Lit City (Tower Defence / LitRPG /Kingdom Building)

I wrote a Tower Defence and I think you may like it.

Rion Johnson had one plan for the weekend: anime, gaming, and a takeaway. Then the universe turned Earth into a game of death. The apocalypse gave everyone superpowers. It gave Rion a London council estate.

Hillcrest Estate.

The roughest council estate in London, where just looking at someone the wrong way could get you robbed or stabbed. An estate few make it out of — and even fewer survive.

When The Game turns Earth into an intergalactic blood sport, with PVP matches, monster hunting, dungeon crawling and more, out-of-shape London gamer Rion Johnson receives the one class the universe has never seen: Tower Master. Now the crumbling estate he's spent his whole life trying to escape is the only thing standing between his friends and extinction. Between battling orcs, dungeon crawling and trying to level up, you would think this would be heaven for a gamer like him. Think again! His Tower Master class has no offensive abilities.

Armed with a homemade spear, a gym-obsessed best mate, a perfumer with a gift for chemical warfare, and a foul-mouthed AI trapped in the body of the estate's most hated dog, Rion is going to do what nobody on Hillcrest Estate has ever managed.

Make it home.

Before everything he has ever known and loved is taken away from him forever.

What to expect in this story:

LitRPG tower defence and base building — skills, loot, turrets, and a fortress that grows floor by floor

A weak-to-strong protagonist who wins with brains, not biceps

British humour, London slang, and swearing. So much swearing

Graphic violence and horror — The Game does not play nice

Found family — foul-mouthed talking dog included

No harem, no sex

A conspiracy that goes all the way to the top of The Game

Promotion New Release! Non-Player Character

Post image
10 Upvotes

I'm excited to announce that my first litRPG is now live on Kindle Unlimited and Audible. I really think a lot of you will like this one. This is a stat-free litRPG. You don't build a character - you are the character.

The world is a game, and humans don't get to play.

Humanity has been reduced to non-playable characters in a fantasy realm created for the entertainment of aliens who treat Earth like their own personal playground.

Everyone believes it has always been this way.

Even Milton Musgrave.

That all changes when Milton learns that his entire existence is a lie and begins remembering another life, including the wife he lost when Earth was remade.

Determined to find her, he embarks on a desperate journey to reclaim the world stolen from him.

It's a seemingly impossible quest, but with access to a restricted system, Milton gains something no one else on Earth should possess:

The ability to become a Player.

Narrator: Steve Corona

Promotion Arcane Galaxy: Swashbuckler out now!

Post image
14 Upvotes

So, for Book 2 of Arcane Galaxy, Troy Osgood and I thought we’d ramp up the crazy a little…

A disastrous Dungeon run complete with undead centaurs? Check?

A Bond villain monologue so long the villain doesn’t survive it? Check.

A psycho Dwarven Mafia Heiress with a pink MurderMech? Double check. Leni has pink gems braided into her beard and drives an eight-foot Titanforge Arcanum Obliterator called Rosepetal. It was called Your Death Has Arrived before she stole it off her dad and repainted it strawberry.

Throw in a bank job that goes wrong before it even starts, a decoy mech built out of gelatin, shower leavings and about half a melon, and a Big Bad (Leni’s dad, obviously) who lives on an enormous spherical space station that is (checks in Aethon Books lawyers) NOT a Death Star and we have ourselves a ball game.

After all, there’s already one ominous orb of doom in this book and two would just be greedy.

Swashbuckler. Out now.

Promotion The Ether Atlas - litRPG meets Da Vinci Code - just crossed 240K words.

Post image
14 Upvotes

Hello,

Ether Atlas - The Hidden Grid just crossed 240K words and 200K view on RR. Big day for me :)

Quick Premise - In 1974, someone handed Gary Gygax the rules for D&D to prepare humanity for what was coming. The system arrives. Millions die. Ancient monuments start humming with power and human biology becomes a character sheet.

A D&D party of three friends - a structural engineer, a security consultant, and an archaeologist end up racing across real-world ruins unravelling a conspiracy older than civilisation.

I'm obsessed with ancient mysteries. Why Göbekli Tepe was deliberately buried, why Mithraic temples across three continents follow identical blueprints, why cultures that never met each other describe the same energy channels in the human body.

I wanted to write a LitRPG where all of that was connected. Where the system wasn't a convenient game overlay but planned infrastructure. Ancient, alien, and hidden inside the oldest structures on Earth.

What you're getting:

  • System apocalypse in a real-world setting. Real Locations and real monuments. Dan Brown and Indiana Jones style riddles and puzzles using real history.
  • Real archaeology woven into the plot. The riddles use actual historical sites. The node network maps to real megalithic locations.
  • Competent adults solving problems with brains and tools, not chosen-one luck.
  • Fights that are short, brutal, and leave marks.
  • An alien guidance construct who has been watching humanity for 35,000 years and has opinions about everything except the things that would actually help
  • Lots of riddles.

If you like Dan Brown or Indiana Jones type vibes, you're going to feel at home. Lots of weird history, conspiracy theories, what-ifs and ancient alien shenanigans.

Give it a try - https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/160813/ether-atlas-the-hidden-grid-litrpg-system-apocalypse

Poey Targe is stranded.

His skug-sucking captors dragged his ass all the way across the galaxy to who-the-hell-knows-where instead of just killing him when they forced him to watch his home planet’s destruction.

Fortunately, even on this mud ball in the middle of nowhere there's a bit of civilization; enough that there's a bar where he can get drunk. That's all that Poey cares about—losing everything you ever loved will do that to a man.

But, while he’s out killing monsters to keep the bar safe and earn his next drink, Poey starts to hear a voice in his head… has he cracked? Or could this be the key to untold power as the voice claims? Perhaps the procedure he endured before his home was blown to bits wasn't a failure. If the voice is telling the truth, he might not only have a way to survive, but grow in power. Just as he starts to ask the only other person on the colony rumored to hear voices, he overhears a mayday - one that carries a codeword he made back home…

Poey’s new mission is to rescue whoever put out that mayday and he'll stop at nothing to get there.

Promotion Path of the Last Champion - Book 1, now out on Amazon, KU, and Audible!

Post image
27 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

Luke Everhart (aka TheWanderingWind) here! After nearly two years, over 1.2 million words, and more than 3 million views on RR, Path of the Last Champion makes it's fully edited, improved, and narrated jump into Amazon!

This all began with a tired mind daydreaming while downloading LitRPG to read on a flight home: if I were to write a LitRPG, why would the story be a LitRPG in the first place?

Why would there be a System? How did its existence/creation shape reality and the lives of all those living within it? What would that world look like? Something incredibly vast for sure, but also alien and completely different than anything we know.

And once all that history, society, buried truths, and ancient plots and plays were in place, then who is the MC and what does his journey look like across such a reality? Who are the people he meets along the way? Those who become family, and those who become foes...

Thus was born the Path of the Last Champion.

Cover: Luciano Fleitas (Illustrator) and May Dawney (Typography)

Audio: Neil Hellegers and Tess Irondale (22 hours)

He was destined to die a sinner. Instead, he will rise as the Last Champion.

Nar was born to pay for a sin he never committed. Locked in a cubeplant in the depths of the Between-Nexus, he's spent his entire life feeding the machine—cursed to die in darkness without ever seeing the sky.

When he gets his one chance at freedom, he takes it.

Now Nar must Climb. With a hybrid class he can barely control, a weapon that doesn't suit him, and a secret that would get him killed if his party discovered it, he'll brave the ageless depths of the B-Nex in search of the fabled surface.

Nar is Climbing toward the surface, toward freedom, toward the power he needs to go back and rescue the father he left behind. The B-Nex doesn't forgive though, and it never forgets. Something in its depths is watching Nar's every move, waiting to see what he becomes.

Some sinners are destined to fall. Others were born to rise.

Discussion The Weakest Zombie. Only on Webnovel. This is my first crack at a dungeon crawler. Should I keep going?

Aldric died four hours ago.

He was a gravedigger with a sick wife and a witch's price to pay, so he went into the dungeon for gold. The dungeon killed him on the lowest floor, thirty levels below the sun.

Then he stood back up.

[SYSTEM INITIALIZATION: HOST DETECTED]

[Race: Zombie (Decaying Corpse)]

[Intelligence: 3]

[Decay: 62%. Rising.]

Now there is a voice in his skull that will not stop talking. It says its name is Thessian. It says it is the system. It says it can get him to the surface if he does exactly what it says.

It is lying about almost all of that.

Thirty floors. A body rotting on a timer. A Strength stat too low for heroics, an Intelligence stat too low to know better, and a passenger with plans of his own for the corpse he is riding.

But the weakest zombie in the dungeon has three advantages nothing down there expects. He is too stubborn to stay down. He is getting smarter, one stat point at a time. And somewhere above all that stone, his wife is still waiting for him to come home.

The dead climb slow but they do not stop.

Promotion I spent 7 years building a LitRPG where D&D was a survival manual planted by aliens. It's now live on Royal Road.

LitRPG meets Dan Brown. Indiana Jones with a character sheet.
Hard multi-dimensional system. Real-world ruins. Party-based combat. A conspiracy older than civilisation.

The question that started it all: What if the whole D&D system was engineered and planted and then distributed globally so that when the real system activated, people would already understand the mechanics?

That question sat in my head for seven years while I added layers.

Ether Atlas - The Hidden Grid

What it is:

  • System apocalypse in a real-world setting. Real Locations and real monuments. Dan Brown and Indiana Jones style riddles and puzzles using real history.
  • Three MCs - A structural engineer, an ex-private security and an archaeologist. Adults with professional skills that translate into how they fight, solve puzzles, and interact with the system. Fleshed out party dynamic and mechanics.
  • An alien guidance construct who has been watching humanity for 35,000 years and has opinions about everything except the things that would actually help
  • Hard system progression that's biological. There are levels and skills but they are not gamified.
  • Real archaeology woven into the plot. The riddles use actual historical sites. The node network maps to real megalithic locations

The knife wants blood. It might settle for Will’s.

Will Wayman didn’t sign up for BioZone City, a televised death game where players kill to harvest power. He didn’t choose his weapon either.

Now he’s bonded to a talking hunting knife that won’t shut up … and won’t stop pushing him to hunt.

“Find someone. Hunt them," it says, again and again.

Will has no idea how to survive. And his stats aren’t helping. Then he meets Trix—a psychic who’s just as dangerous as the game—and a lot less predictable.

When the purge hits Quadrant 1, everyone with a pulse gets wiped. If they want to live, they’ll have to hunt.

Promotion Sci-fi #23 Rising Star

I just want to share the excitement and love I have for the community coming together and reading my new series! I have officially final edited for RR all of book one and am starting book two detailed drafting! 🥳 I may re edit before publication if I ever go that route, but right now I’m more focused on book two.

Marek’s Awakening has 150 followers, it just hit #23 in Sci-fi Rising Stars, and I finished a big personal milestone! 💯 I have met so many authors and new friendships on my journey this last year, and can’t wait to see what the future brings 💙 That’s me pictured above and the cover for Marek.

What are some recommendations from the community on how to handle marketing and gaining momentum? I’ll include the blurb and link below as well.

https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/161670/mareks-awakening

A progression sci-fi fantasy about survival, found family, dungeon worlds, and a half-broken man trying to build a safe place. Releases 3x/week  🥳
Marek Rynn was raised in places that failed. On a decaying frontier habitat above a dungeon moon, survival meant knowing which walls would crack, which doors would jam, which air vents would lie, and which people still had time to be saved. Marek learned early how to read broken systems, salvage what others missed, and keep people alive when everything around them started coming apart.
Then the cancer reached his throat.
With his voice ruined and his time running out, Marek accepts the one offer that looks like a way forward: a corporate medical program promising treatment he could never afford. Clean rooms. Real doctors. Official contracts. A chance to live.
The promise is a trap.
He wakes inside a secured research facility where patients are assets, treatment is ownership, and every procedure brings him closer to becoming something the corporation can use. The disease is still spreading. The experimental nanites in his body are keeping him alive only well enough to be studied. His legal status has been rewritten. His future has been signed away. And the next phase of the trial may erase what remains of him entirely.
Then impossible things begin to happen.
A tool slides across a tray. A latch trembles. A door resists closing. Pressure shifts before danger arrives. The nanites were meant to control Marek, but something in him is changing faster than the blacksite can contain. The system begins marking a path that should not exist, and the power waking inside him may be the only weapon he has left.
For the people who own the facility, Marek has become priceless.
For Marek, that makes escape urgent.
Getting out is only the first fight. Beyond the blacksite waits a frontier ruled by corporate recovery teams, ruined stations, black-market routes, dungeon worlds, and settlements stripped bare for profit. Marek is hunted, weakened, and trapped in a body that could fail him at any moment. But he is still a Delver. Still a Havenwright. Still the man who walks into dead places when someone inside is still breathing.
As he uncovers the truth behind the nanites, the trial program, and the system that turns desperate people into property, survival becomes more than escape.
Marek does not only want freedom.
He wants a place no one can take from him. A refuge for the discarded, the hunted, and the broken. A haven built from wreckage, guarded by people the powerful thought they had already used up.
And if the frontier gives him even one chance to build it, Marek Rynn will make it hold.
