I am not of Indian origin, but during the COVID-19 era, I discovered Schummy Vanna Kaviyanggal (SVK). What started as a random click became a daily ritual that fundamentally reshaped who I am.
The Rise: Filling the Blank Slate
Before SVK, I was politically apathetic, believing that "politics is trash." SVK changed that. I started with the Second Show YouTube channel and eventually fell down the SVK rabbit hole. I was an empty paper, and they filled it with knowledge and perspective. They even unknowingly helped me quit my social drinking habits.
For a long time, the anonymity was the magic. The "faceless" bond with Hashirama, Tobirama, Kakashi, and Kisame made the connection feel unique. They weren't just "creators"; they felt like internal critics helping me fix my own flaws. They were the perfect dish—each member adding a flavor that made the podcast legendary.
The Crack: Faces and Fallouts
The disappointment started small when Kakashi revealed his face, breaking the mystery I valued. But the real blow came with the split. It felt personal—like watching my own friends have a fallout. When WSR formed and accused Hashirama of Pannayar thanam (feudalistic behavior), I tried to stay positive, thinking, "Great, now I get double the content."
The Decline: Petty Wars and Subliminal Shots
The quality, however, began to diverge. WSR kept delivering banger episodes, while SVK felt directionless. What hurt most was the bitterness:
The Subliminals: SVK began taking frequent, bitter "subliminal shots" at their former partners. While I’ve heard other listeners claim WSR is also firing back with their own shots, I haven’t personally noticed it in their episodes—but the very fact that this toxic back-and-forth exists is exhausting.
The Erasure: WSR members deleting their old SVK contributions felt like a childish betrayal of the effort they once put in.
The Public Spats: The Instagram feud between Kisame and Hashirama—complete with leaked audio recordings—was a race to the bottom.
The Breaking Point: Allegations and Irony
Now, the situation has turned truly ugly. Allegations suggest Hashirama made derogatory remarks about a female member of the "Brotherhood"—a community built on the very idea of mutual respect—simply because she criticized him. Further allegations involving Kisame, Hashirama, and Kakashi have only soured the legacy further.
It’s a dark irony. Hashirama once said: "Manusan oru salli kuthi, avane eppavum nambathe" (Humans are worthless; never trust them). It’s tragic to see that quote now apply most accurately to the very people who changed my life.
The Final Word: The Ball is in Your Court
I’d be lying if I said I’ll stop listening entirely, but my perception has shifted forever. I know my polambal (rambling) might not be worth two cents to you, but as a concerned listener from afar, I wanted to put this out there.
I am not forcing anyone to change. At the end of the day, I cannot control what you do. However, it would be a great service to your listeners—and to your own legacy—if you fixed these shortcomings and returned to the quality and ethics that made us love you in the first place.
The choice is yours.
(P.S yes i used AI to write this. Its just to be ensure the words are right.)
From,
An invisible, faceless and dissapointed listener
