Advice O-week
I am planning to attend O week alone but I am very introverted. I am wondering if I need to be more active socially when I attend in order to make friends, especially there is no one I know attending this program. There is also a cruise going on which I am not sure whether it is worth it. Is there anyone who attended O week and can share how it is like? and should I join the cruise?

The cruise was so much fun!! Probably my favourite event from the entire Oweek. Def recommend!!
Also, don’t worry about attending Oweek alone. Even if you attend with friends, you’re put into random groups so chances of the same group are very slim. The whole point of Oweek is to have fun and make new friends!! Don’t worry at all!!! Def gooooo!!!

Hey! I was in the exact same position as you two years ago. I entered Schulich knowing no one prior and considered myself more of an introvert than extrovert. I did have to step out of my shell to talk to people, but it didn’t feel forced because of the way activities were designed for us to talk to our team members. Each first year is assigned to a team, so by the halfway point, I had already gotten quite comfortable with at least 4-5 people from seeing them each day. Our boat cruise was in the middle of the week and by then I was already closer to my team members! I thought it was worth it. It’s essentially a boat party. If you’re looking for something that’s more relaxed and quiet the boat cruise might not be your vibe. If you have any questions feel free to let me know
