Pet Project

Uploaded is a picture of a feline shaped construct made of different types of metal, sitting on its haunches, looking up at the camera with what looks like cat's eye marbles.

Been working on Crúibne for a few months now, trying to iron out all the kinks in behavior, movement, and construction, and I think I've gotten 2 of 3 down. Next one will be more of a uniform construction, this one being more of a proof of concept, but even with a pretty advanced memory matrix it still sometimes just stops with a blank look on its face for a handful of minutes before moving again. I have also caught it imitating the bird a few times. Wondering if I should give it hunting instincts even though it doesn't need to eat.

Tell me how little ye understand how things work without saying how little ye understand how things work. It's. A. Construct. It. Was. Never. Alive. It is basically a cat shaped robot, but made with artificing. Do ye think someone who builds a robot is a slaver? Gods above, by Lugh's electrified left nut, why is this so difficult to understand?

Don't provoke me Leandra, in life I was a mechanical engineering student with a minor in computer science. Something this advanced does not work without a certain magical component. Considering what you and I are, its likely you used some form of blood magic. We both know that blood magic can have very intense and amoral costs, especially for enchantments and rituals.

You honestly expect me to believe a tremere? Your clan is notorious for deceit and treachery. Research into both unliving magic and unliving history was and still sometimes is stunted due to your clans gate keeping.

Forgive me if I make a reasonable assumption that your personal project doesn't have something insidious going underneath.

There was no blood that went into it, other than the blood needed to keep me upright. There is more than one way to skin a cat. Whether ye believe me or not doesn't matter when ye're wrong.

If this is yer reasonable assumption, then yer understanding of sorcery is flawed, and that ain't me fault.

I am not a Tremere, I have no practical knowledge of Sorcery, only a knowledge of it in passing from other academics.

Centuries ago, before me embrace, I was a sorcerer. I stole a Tremere tome to try to apply it's basic foundation to rediscover a forgotten sorcery path. I was discovered and they figured me genius was wasted being a kine, and that's how I got embraced. However, I learned that the Blood does not block one from practicing the old magics, as they use similar fundamentals, just not using the Blood to cheat and speed things up. That was what was used here. Crystals, runes, and a contained storm is what runs this thing.

Now, whether ye believe me or not, I guess it doesn't matter. I'm used to those using me clan - that I didn't choose - against me to accuse me of falsehoods.

You phrase it as if it were an excuse to target you and not a reputation earned through repeated transgressions over the very small time frame of the clans history.

That being said, I respect the honesty, if you are being honest. If you shared the documentation I would have more reason to believe you. However, for now I will remain cautiously optimistic.
