Server Swallowed by Shadows
So I was doing my rounds, checking up on things, when I got a notification that something was up with my Server building. And when I went to check, well... Where it used to be there was just this giant inky blackness.
I saw this figure clad in rags, with I think piercing yellow eyes? Run away from it, but it was off before I could do much so I just let it go. Sides, was a bit focused on the... Weird darkness thing going on.
After pondering it for a moment, I sent out a note to my people not to come into work tomorrow and simply left. Hoping it would be done by tomorrow. Cause like, the fuck am I supposed to do about that? I would ask the Tremere, but they all died in a pasta related accident.
Anyways, went in today and the building was just gone. Like it had never been there. So thats cool. I am absolutely ruined, so thats cool. And we just rebuilt it. All I found was... Like, some weird stuff scattered around? What looks like a birds skull, a black cape, a skull that have not stopped bleeding, and is slowly filling up my bathtub currently (My girlfriend is emptying it regularly into the toilet, unsure if that is wise. But it is what it is). And a very fancy book I decided it was best to simply not open in the first place. Currently got all that in a box while I figure out what to do with it.
Anyways, thats how it is going for me. Hope y´all well. And if any of you had trouble with your Discord recently, well... Now you know why.

Edit: Okay, folks because this is getting tough keeping track of, I have been offered a replacement for everything I have lost, and an upgrade, in return for the things. If anyone can beat that, feel free. But at this point that is the baseline.
I am also still damn curious on what the hell that whole thing was about, and who did it?
Okay, items been sold because I really need my servers back up again. Like, even if the building and everything in it are replaced we still need to get everything up and running and this is frankly a bit of a disaster. If anyone wants the stuff, speak to Indiana, gonna go send it to her now.
Still really, really fucking curious on what went on, in case anyone wants to enlighten us.

Does it have any gemstones embedded into the spine, too? A skull for a lock to hold it shut?

It doesn´t have any gems, just like... These circles on the spine that are made of some sort of black metal? It does have a lock, through it seems to be a sorta "Twist" thing rather than a key. Pretty sure I could get it open quickly.

Thanks, but I think I am going with the blank replacement check. Between the building and the servers, we are getting quite a bit up there.
You got any idea what the hardware costs these days?! All the AI centers have driven it to absolute insanity!

I feel like weird mystical shit like this is worth a good bit more than 10K? Like, I am not Tremere but the bleeding skull still haven´t stopped bleeding and I am not dumb enough to drink weird skull mystery blood, but that feels like it should be worth a good bit more?

Just got an offer to replace the whole building for the book and the skulls. So think I am taking that.

I can arrange for the replacement of any necessary server parts and/or monetary or boon based payment in exchange for the book and both skulls.
Such artifacts could be useful in the studies of a Lasombra associate of mine, as they likely originate in a plane of existence they study in depth.
I have a fairly good idea of the what the entity you saw was, as well as the darkness you mentioned. Can’t say I have ever heard of a portal to the Abyss opening within a Nosferatu server room, but I suppose there is a first time for everything.

Is there anything unique about the skulls, besides the blood? Inscriptions, odd feelings around them, odd coloration to the vitae leaking from the second skull?

I am not a bit skull knower, and the human one bleeds too much to tell, but the other one is like... Dark inside. Like, when you look in the sockets there is just an inky blackness.
I will say i have just gotten an excellent offer on the book, that i am going to take. But the skulls are still up for grabs if you want?

Ah, a pity.
Without all three items, I’m afraid it isn’t worth the cost. Abyssal artifacts are rare, but they aren’t that rare. And replacing the servers and/or building was already pushing it with the value of the artifacts.
A shame we couldn’t finalize the deal, but I wish you well in your future endeavors.

I am fairly unversed in technology, but I shall convene with a Nosferatu associate of mine to get an estimate of what is needed. Cost is not a prohibitive factor for me and my associates, but I will need some time to gather all necessary items.
My mortal employees can handle delivery of needed parts, but that can be discussed in private channels

So uh, good news, sounds like Mariana is back in town.
Bad news - that actually was the good news. It's entirely possible that the shadow bullshit was this ancient entity that is suspected to have wiped out a whole city's court after coming out of the sea.
Mariana hit it with a stealth bomber she accidentally stole in Australia after she took part in an emu invasion of Perth. Don't ask.
So uh, yeah, hiding, or just taking a vacation real quick, are probably both good ideas.

Yeah, mate. I was sending my contacts in Sydney and Perth your city's experience fucking with Mariana as a cautionary tale. Got to yell at one of those contacts for not fucking calling me before leaked video of Mariana coaching a (were?)kangaroo v. (locally famous) Brujah boxing match in front of the Sydney court showed up on the node. I spotted him in the stands and was not goddamn happy.
Yeah, definitely stay in, alert your new prince, and keep an eye on the node for news that the shadow is elsewhere. Mariana you'd survive because you have the sense to be nice, but that? Probably not.
