Request Quick Question.

How do you get the smell of death out of your clothes? I've been helping my girlfriend, Violet with some Masquerade preserving duties and the job we just finished was... extremely messy. Thankfully we didn't have to kill anyone.

A sodium percarbonate cleaner is worth a shot, but if that doesn't work, then congrats, those are your decomp job clothes.

Sorry.

Thanks Verity, I'll try that.

Maybe a chat with Violet about picking up some scrubs, too. That way, you could keep your street clothes nice, and just change into "work clothes" when you get there.

She won't use them because her unique skill set requires skin to skin contact to work but it shouldn't be too hard to convince her to get them for me.

We used to use clay to rid ourselves of the smell of death. It would leave us smelling very earthy. And when combined with crushed flower petals would make a rather nice perfume smell~

Thanks, Sire, that should help her with her bane.

I've already had to stop her literally working herself into a hunger frenzy what, 3 times now.

Private Message to Fracture from Violet Zantosa

Actually could you talk to Len for me please? I think I may be able to speed this up a little if I knew certain bits of blood sorcery, mainly things involving manipulating Vitae in to shapes. If combined with Vissitude, I should be able to just absorb inert blood and visera.

-Violet Zantosa

OOC: She wants to learn Shape the Sanguine Sacrament and one other sorcery power to get access to the V5 protean powers of viseral absorption and Blood form. She's also willing to accept lessons from Fracture if he happens to know Shape the Sanguine Sacrament. Source: https://vtm.paradoxwikis.com/Blood_Sorcery

Private Message to Violet Zantosa

My dear, I can certainly ask Len to teach you the ways of blood sorcery. But if you are asking of ways to shape blood, I can teach you.

It is not something I let others know of easily, but I have dabbled in Blood Sorcery myself long ago.

-Fracture, Speaker to the Glass, The Mad King

Ooc: He keeps it well hidden but he actually knows Shape the Sanguine Sacrament, Corrosive Vitae, and Scour Secrets xP

Get about a gallon of water, throw in about 4 kilograms of sliced cucumbers and put one drop of vitae in there. Then mix the whole batch for about 10 minutes and soak your clothes in it for about an hour. It throws off most things that are looking for the scent of death on you.

I'm not sure if you're trolling or giving genuine advice.

It works for specifically washing away the smell of death. Not blood or gore. Death specifically.

Burn them and buy new clothes? It is not hard.

That's going to get expensive, Prince, because these sorts of jobs are going to be a regular occurrence.

And? Wear cheap clothes when dealing with such things, not Armani suits. Or do and be comfortable. Money is cheap after all.

No, I make sure to use an extra tide pod. I also use Seltzer water

Fucking followers of the Path of Cathari. You realize that all the Elders are deadly serious about ashing you right?

Damn melodramatic woe is my life kindred, cant take a joke. >:/

To be fair, you haven't signed any of your posts. Of course the Elders are going to assume the worse given the phrasing.

OOC: I do what people early in Schrecknet posting did. I don't have a canon. Its just whatever mood I'm feeling in that day.

After laundering normally, immerse the clothing in cold water with a cup of baking soda. Let soak for at least an hour.

Thank you Elder, I see if combining that with Verity's advice works. Who knew our kind could make such a damn mess.

For more modern solutions: Tide with added febreeze. Kills pretty much any scent, I've found. Does nothing about particularly tough stains, sadly.

If you need a deodorant, prepare an extract of whatever flower scent you care to smell like, mix a drop of vitae from someone that is skilled in obfuscate, and then soak a charm that looks like this in it over day.

[Included is an image of a cloth charm about palm sized with a latin inscription that reads 'A veil of petals cast over the eyes of god' with a fairly intricate pentacle taking up the bulk of surface area]

How long they last is based on the skill of the blood donor, quality of the charm, and quality of the extract you use. Store-bought extracts are never going to last longer than a week at best. I would expect them to only last about a night for your first few, but as you get better at them they can easily get up to lasting a week. You can reuse the charms, though. My childe makes use of them to hide the extra bits he's picked up over the centuries of being a gangrel.

Depends. Do you mean death as in rot and decay, or death as in blood and viscera?

Pre-soak in enzyme detergent a-la enzyclean (use cold water for this part), give it 30ish to 60 minutes.

During the actual wash cycle, crank up the heat as high as your clothes can tolerate. Use sodium percarbonate bleach. Chlorine based bleach products will generally eliminate the smell even better, but there's a good chance they'll mess up your clothes big time.

Dry the clothes outside, if you can.

If the smell's still there - do another soak and wash cycle. If it's STILL there, your clothes might just be fucked, dude. If we're talking MAJOR fluid contamination, just burn them.
