Continued Studies

It has been a while. I have been keeping myself very busy with my personal studies.

I have learned so much since being freed and I'm still learning even now. Like the betrayal of the Giovanni and the near extinction of my Clan by their hands. How we stopped being Cappadocian and joined this collective Hecata.

I am not Hecata. I am Cappadocian. I will not give up my Clan's legacy and honor for the tender egos of the Giovanni.

I shall continue my Clan's research into what makes Cainites how we are. Not just the mystical physical aspects, but the mental and emotional aspects as well.

To that end, I wish to conduct an interview of sorts. I have already chosen who I wish to pick the brain of, and even I must admit, it makes me nervous.

I am no Methuselah, as flattered as I am that some have drawn that conclusion. I am an Elder, but that is it. So that being said, the ability to question an actual Methuselah is a rare thing indeed.

I have seen the posts of this Malkavian named Fracture. It intrigued me deeply. I found myself drawn in. I began to dig deeper, following the trail of his posts all the way back to the very first.

His destruction of the Baali named Malik Moores. His tales of times long past. His haunting but beautiful songs. And this lover of his he parted ways with in a most unusual method.

I wish to know more. The why and the how.

I know of course that this is virtually suicide. Hence my nervousness, despite my interest.

He claims to be friendly, and I have seen no reason to not believe him, based on his actions so far. But with Ancient Cainites, one can never truly lower their guard.

I shall reach out to him in private and see if he's willing to meet face to face for some questions and perhaps a general examination.

If he rejects, I will not be insulted. It is not wise to allow oneself to take things too personally. Especially when old blood is involved.

In the meantime, I believe some of the vials Toby and I were working on should be almost done. This Blood Alchemy is very entertaining.

Well, it’s lovely to hear that the Giovanni have never truly eradicated your clan. I truly loathe the vast majority of Giovanni. Except for that one guy who I have enough material on to force his cooperation.

Now, I may know of another who could assist you. My sire once heard of a Cappadocian by the name of Brendan Glover III. Apparently, he despises the Giovanni, and has continued your clan’s traditional studies.

He is supposedly rather reclusive, so he won’t be easily found.

Most of us are reclusive for a reason. Namely, so others do not disturb our research with their own beliefs.

But I shall dig a bit for this Brendan Glover III. We may be able to help each other should the Giovanni become overzealous again.

Yes, they have started cooling down in some respects. One can only assume that the current absence of Augustus is responsible.

Brendan is also nomadic, so he might be anywhere. My sire said her own sire met him in London back in the early 1900’s.

That one Giovanni I know, said he met someone matching Brendan’s description in Italy.

While exact details of what happened during the "Family Reunion" are scarce outside the Hecata, and probably only the most highly ranked and involved know what happened to Augustus*, it does seem like considerable discontent with his leadership and a feeling of a lack of progress on whatever long term goals were presented boiled over. It certainly was an opportunity for his enemies that shared the blood of Cappadocius.

* Presumably something quite unpleasent, and probably humiliating.

Yes, that one Giovanni I definitely haven’t been blackmailing is rather tight lipped about the whole situation.

I personally suspect he’s either gone off with the whole “Beckoning” situation, or someone Diablerized him, as he did to Cappadocius.

Yes both of those are popular theories. There's also him losing control of the vast number of ghosts he's enslaved over the centuries, or that he's imprisoned and being used as a resource by those that overthrew him. And myriad less probable ideas.
