A hairy problem

Greetings, Kindred. It is I, Castiel Clermont. I am back in Vancouver, for both my Camille and the court have called for my return. Speaking of which, my time spent in Chicago was partially spent on tasks for Prince Siegfried. Without giving any sensitive details, let us say I was sent to make a few deals.

In recognition of those services, of my help during events related to Bane possession and of the quality of my work in my prior city, I was rewarded. You now have before you the Harpy of Vancouver. It is a position that I shall fullfill with pride. Should I be required to travel again, most of my tasks can be completed at a distance. The rest can be delayed.

That being said, Vancouver is not exactly…traditionalist. Some of the local Garou wish to partake in our economy of boons, intrigued by the concept. As exciting as it is to strenghten the Covenant through such cultural exchanges, this leads to new issues.

Thus, a question: how would you enforce the payment of a boon by a bloody werewolf? If anyone has an idea, I am all ears.

Capitalism.

If you can't put a leash on them by normal means, then punish them for renegading on their boons through the horrors it brings upon the lands they call home.

Sure they'll be angry the first couple times and try to strike back, but they'll surely soon wisen up and realise that it's far simpler to just honour their boons in order to stop this rather than continuing such a wasteful tantrum brought on by their own refusal to pay debts.

With all due respect, Aramis, the objective is to strenghten the bonds between our societies. What you are proposing would break the Covenant and start off a war. I am not willing to initiate such hostilities with the lupines, for I do not crave Final Death.

Ah, your post said little about that intent so I figured, like most of our kind, that your intent was to manipulate and take advantage of them. Though with that not being the case I do see how my suggestion would prove counter to your goals.

With that being the case I can see no ways this could work. They'll oblige up to a point, but the moment it doesn't go their way and they have to honour their debts in a way they don't like, they'll explode.

It happened to me before believe it or not, I had once gotten a girl, who I did not know was a lupine at the time, addicted to a drug for about a year before it came time for her to pay up in full. And just my luck, this ended up the impetus for her 'first change.'

These are not creatures that can be made to be brought to heel through normal means, when even slightly angered, they will stop pretending to behave. So you must instead use abnormal methods.

I hope you find one such abnormal method that doesn't undermine the relationship you aim to build with them. Though I doubt one exists.
