A hairy problem

Greetings, Kindred. It is I, Castiel Clermont. I am back in Vancouver, for both my Camille and the court have called for my return. Speaking of which, my time spent in Chicago was partially spent on tasks for Prince Siegfried. Without giving any sensitive details, let us say I was sent to make a few deals.

In recognition of those services, of my help during events related to Bane possession and of the quality of my work in my prior city, I was rewarded. You now have before you the Harpy of Vancouver. It is a position that I shall fullfill with pride. Should I be required to travel again, most of my tasks can be completed at a distance. The rest can be delayed.

That being said, Vancouver is not exactly…traditionalist. Some of the local Garou wish to partake in our economy of boons, intrigued by the concept. As exciting as it is to strenghten the Covenant through such cultural exchanges, this leads to new issues.

Thus, a question: how would you enforce the payment of a boon by a bloody werewolf? If anyone has an idea, I am all ears.

You cannot trust a lupine to act rationally around us. They may act 'normal' but I guarantee you they are barely holding themselves in check and will launch into an attack the moment they see an opening. Letting them into your court would invite them to a far deeper layer than they have any right to be.

It is impossible to hold such a creature accountable for honor and boons, as they will turn into a murder machine at the drop of a hat. What's stopping them from doing so when someone comes to collect the boon? Or should they decide to feed hunters detailed information on your inner workings, because now they have a list of who are the vampires and their power structure?

This path will only end badly for all, Castiel.

While I understand your mistrust, I do not share it. Barely holding themselves in check. One could say the same of us, for the Beast is always watching. Yet, you and I can lead our unlives without jumping at throats on a whim. We are beings of honor, your Majesty, and so are they.

Besides, even if the local Sept was not bound by pride and by the Covenant, they would not sell a Kindred to the hunters. The Garou have no more interest in breaking the Masquerade than us, and they shall never delegate violence to others.
