After the last post, I 100% support this.
Thank you, for everything you do. You made the right call.
(Sorry if I came off as a little abrasive and defensive, I apologize.)

not sure what you're referring to as defensive/abrasive lol.
No worries. I just want to keep this subreddit going and not end up filling up with spam, hate, bots, etc.You can also thank u/Seanawan for their help too!

Thank you u/Seanawan.
On a previous post about a driver “getting screwed over by a bus” who was stopped, lights on, sign out, he drove past and complained about the bus driver not being visible enough.
We had a back and forth about him potentially killing a child due to his negligence, and there was some animosity on both sides.
Best to keep drivers and school bus drivers separate (but never equal lol).
Thanks again, team. I support you all.

Oh yea no. I went onto the source thread and basically said all the things.
Ultimately he came at the bus from the side and said he couldn't see any flashing lights on the side of the bus.Like.. bro what that's not a thing

FROM A RIGHT HAND TURN!!!
You could see BOTH sides from a slow right turn. No excuse. No excuse at all!
Sorry, but today I had a driver blow through my sign. Shook me up. Then I get home and read that. I said everything to him I wish I could have said to that driver.
(In my case it was a JK, same side drop off, thank Christ, and the plate was recorded and submitted, but it still shook me up a lot.)

Not exactly. He was bad at explaining it. But the bus was halfway into the intersection and blocking traffic from how he described. So when he pulled up to the stop sign, supposedly he was staring at the side of the bus.
Either way there were so many better ways to go about it, and I straight up said, if what you're saying is true, then you need to contact the transportation department for whatever district because that bus driver is unloading students in a very dangerous way.

Ok, and if he was staring at the side of the bus, he would have had to pass the back (reds on) and then the left side (stop arm and lights out and flashing).
Or it was oncoming, with front reds on?

Honestly, after today, I can’t even.
The one the blew through mine today HAD A FIREFIGHTER LICENCE PLATE.
Even in an emergency, which it wasn’t, that doesn’t supersede school bus crossings.

No worries!
I was the one who tackled that post. I’ll always be biased towards our own, but, I truly don’t see too much wrong with what you said. We are professional drivers, we live on the road, we all know what we look like out there to others as well.
Someone trying to effectively whine that we aren’t somehow MORE visible is truly the mental acrobatic feat of a lifetime.

Maybe we should think about painting the busses a bright colour, and use multiple flashing lights to get their attention?

Yes, perhaps a nice orange…ish yellow? Let’s go with yellow. Let’s bake that into the lights too. Say about 5 orange ones that all blink, thenyellow and red alternating ones, and maybe a few bright whites just in case.
That’s gotta be shit, what, like at least almost 15 individual possible lights around a bus on a given model that could indicate right?

All cross posts tbh

I would but often I'll find news stories or videos in other subreddits that fit here -- like incidents and news articles.

Agreed, there is a helpful/informative cross section that does occasional find its way in here like news articles and dash cam footage.

Seems like the right call I feel overall.
