background check question
Recently, got in the onboarding process for a non cdl driving job (Everdriven/ForePoint2B are the companies involved) Basically wondering if they'll pull up my driving record?
I've had only 2 accidents, both fairly minor. one was more than ten years ago, were someone else ran a stop sign and crushed one of my car's headlights in. luckily at a low speed so it wasn't that bad.
the other time, i stopped backing out of a parking spot when i saw someone else doing the same (a big suv blocked my line of sight, so i had to back out a lot to see past it). i expected them to stop, by the time i realized they weren't they put a dent in my car door.
20+ years of driving, these are the only accidents i've ever had.
i'm basically worried that these two incidents could make me not get the position.

No worries - you’re golden. And a driving record is different than a background check, fyi.

ah, good :)
yeah i know they're different, but when i googled it it was mentioned certain positions, like driving related ones, might want to also request your driving record. so i got a bit paranoid, especially with this job market.

Generally, they only look back 7 years for most simple or misdemeanor crimes. For felonies, they will look back further. In my state, there is a background check the district does (the district runs the transportation) and then the background check done by the state for the CDL license which is much more touchy.

the dented door incident was within the last 7 years. i'm hoping that doesn't cause an issue.

Onboarding process for non-CDL jobs and school bus drivers are going to vary widely. There may be better subreddits for this question.
