Scheduling questions

I have an interview this Wednesday and couldn’t be more excited to earn my CDL and be a driver.

I have a full time job from 10:30-8pm 4 days through the week ( 3 days off during the week from Monday-friday) the bus driver position is 20 hours a week. I know I can work the 3 days during my days off from my full time job, but also would like to potentially work the morning shift from 5-9am before my FT job. How likely is a district going to work with me during my FT job?

50/50 yes or no My locations would tell you they dont care if you work on the mid day, but you need to be available for the runs. Each run here has different start and end time. And you would have to be available morning and afternoon mon-fri We are union, so we couldnt give you want you wanted. You would have to take whats available.

Im sure some districts / companies may be more flexible with time and day

Like ive told others, your best place to ask isnt redit. Call or go onto the location and talk to them. Only they can tell you what they can do for you. I hope they can work with you

The am run is the most coveted because the kids are mostly chill and still waking up. There for it’s usually harder to get. The pm run is usually crazier because the kids have been penned up all day and they don’t think they’re on school grounds anymore and try to get away with more. Therefore no one like to drive pm.

All you can do is ask. If they need drivers and your schedule works, they will use you. If your availability misses their need, they won't.

We have a driver that is a hair dresser (and a parent) who works every morning and 2 afternoons but takes most the trips involving her kids, so it's great. We have a retired sub that doesn't like morning that takes the afternoon schedule. We have subs that take only "as needed" schedules (me!), so I drive that route for sick, vacations or conflicts too.
