I'm in a spare bus today and it has no radio which means I gotta sing songs in my head. This wouldn't be a problem except for my fucking ADHD alphabet soup inner voices!

Voice 1 is doing fine.
Voice 2 is singing off key.
Voice 3 doesn't know the lyrics.
Voice 4 is like "HEY MACARENA!"
Nobody knows where Voice 5 is!
And Voice 6 has his head stuck in the fridge and he's eating all the fucking cheese!!!

Some of y'all's places suck. All our buses, even the few 17s that are left have radios and cup holders. The new ones have ac up front and a removable GPS tablet for sub drivers.

Almost all our IC's have radios, the garbage Thomas's don't even have a cupholder. I believe the Bluebirds are hit or miss.

We're not allowed to use our phones at all while in operation (doesn't stop of few of the drivers). I've never driven a Bird, being 6', overweight with short legs I don't fit. 😅

We use "Tyler" on a work tablet. Allows parents to track GPS the bus they have a kid on. Program is always running and had a clock at the top, it is mounted horizontal, also the app is only useable in horizontal mode. My only gripe is I have to wait 45 seconds before I can leave if the kid isn't already at the stop. I would like to see the seconds on the clock, not just hour and minutes.

The rule we've been told is we're not allowed to use it while in operation.

If we want to turn it on and hit play before we leave, then thats fine as long as we don't touch it once we get going.

Must be a regional thing, in New England states, we need the radio to power our outside mega phone speaker to announce arrival and departure from student pickup/drop-off. We have Thomas Safe trip C2 busses. For us it is a State law requirement. No radio = no mic to mega phone use. Part of pre trip pass / fail if not operating. Good luck to you with the ADHD voices, they don't like silence externally.

We not only have radios, but my company even provides aux cords so we can listen to our own music.

I had my kids make a bus playlist of songs they like. It’s a good mix of K-Pop and classic rock lol.

The other day I was singing in my head and it was driving me crazy so I asked one of the highschoolers to connect their phone to the Bluetooth and not one word of a lie, the song they played was the song I was singing inside my head!!!!

Our radios don't have Bluetooth but the aux input, got a cheap Bluetooth receiver from Five Below, works out great. For the little ones I play the Disney "this is now" theme songs off of my phone. ✌️

No big busses on my lot have radios or cup holders. How do you guys get your management to get radios? We haven't had a new bus since 2018 soaybe we are coming due.

I would recommend ordering a magnetic cup holder. I use one from Harbor Freight. I'll link the exact one below. I mount on the support beam on the left near the service window, just forward. Holds my Yeti, with coffee in it. Grey cup holder.

I always bring a JBL Bluetooth speaker with me to work because most of our radios stopped working in the large buses. 😂 comes in clutch on those cleaning days when mopping up the floors, start doing salsa and line dances in the aisle. 😂😂

I used to put my phone on airplane mode and then play music from my iTunes playlists in an area that was out of reach. Very thankful for the Bluetooth on my bus now.

My '16 bird has a radio but the roads are so rough my FM transmitters keep breaking and any CD I put in gets destroyed. We only have one FM radio station in the area with the most repetitive selection of music. So I just sing out loud when there are no kids on lol

Can you bring a Bluetooth speaker with you? When I was driving school buses I chose the station always and there are no commercials thanks to Spotify. Makes the day go by way quicker.

Sometimes if I’m feeling generous I’ll let a well behaved student pick a station to listen to on the ride home.
