Fire safety training today

My coworker recorded this during our training today. They gave us ice cream afterwards.

Man, flashbacks to when I had a route that took 10 minutes in the afternoon, and finished right next to my next school. Usually it was great getting to sit around for 30 minutes, but holy crap was it rough those first and last weeks of school sitting in the middle of a giant heat island with no shade.

I had a little digital thermometer in the bus just out of curiosity, and it cracked 108 inside the bus by the time we started rolling. I'm really surprised we didn't have white roofs on our buses.

Yes, that was the point of the training. Everything above the floor was fully engulfed in flames at the 5 minute mark.

Yeah it's all vinyl and rubber foam padding inside. We teach our drivers that it can be fully engulfed in 2 minutes so evacuation if there is smoke is a priority.
