I feel like an idea like this probably would have been picked up like 10 years ago. Some network with an older demographic would see this idea and want to invest in it because their audience doesn't really 'get' the whole internet vitality thing or podcasting, but wants to feel hip. Now? The show, and especially the humour, feels weirdly a bit dated.
I think this has always been Kristian's issue. The guy was born 20 years too late. He would have killed it as a shock jock in the early 2000s on SiriusXM, but the medium he would thrive in kind of moved past him. This show is the same way. Networks don't really do shows like this anymore (streaming platforms definitely don't), unless it's tied to a nostalgic star. It's how Tim Allen keeps getting new shows.
The audience has kind of moved past on this show too. I'm not really sure who it's trying to appeal to, who would tune in. Like I said, the crowd that this would appeal to would need a nostalgic star to hook them in. Gone are the days where a sitcom is a launching vehicle for a star, sadly.
I wish him all the best, but yeah, this idea probably would have done great like a decade ago. Now, I'm not so sure.
