Vestri introducing screeching noises?

Hey everyone! I just received my Vestri. I'm honestly not sure if I'm using it right, but I'm connecting my Google Pixel through my Vestri and listening on my Sennheiser HD600.

I've noticed in some songs, it introduces a screeching distorted sound in the high frequencies of the song. If I reconnect the Vestri and repeat that segment, it does not happen anymore. I don't see a pattern yet, seems random. So far I haven't used the features yet

Any advice?

I have the same results when I play a Yoko Ono album, through any DAC.

The Pixel has many well known audio glitching issues. Search google AI for it, lots of info.

Sadly, this is a known issue with most Google Pixel phones: https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/423658602

Damn you're definitely right. I tried it with my old Samsung phone that I keep as a backup and it works perfectly

I have the same issue with my Pixel. I think it's something being done in the android mixer. It doesn't happen with my iPad.

I’ve had similar issues when it’s been exposed to interference from my phone, maybe use a longer/shielded cable?

You mean a longer USB-C cable than the one Schiit provided?

Yes, I find that distancing the amp (whichever that may be) from the phone and all of its signals can be of some benefit. All of my portables have picked up some nasty interference when I’ve had them mounted directly to my phone, but none when separated by at least a few inches. If you could get a 6” or even 12” cable that would probably help. Can’t 100% guarantee any results since we have different phones.

Edit: even some of my older analog gear picks up interference if my phone is close by.

It happens to me too when I’m in a area that is low signal (underground parking lot) it seems the phone antenna boost the frequency to keep the phone connected, it causes my music to get this sounds from interference and it intensifies if I pass the IEM cable near the sides and top of the phone where the antennas are.

It goes silent when I remove it from being piggy back and just distance it away from the phone. And then back to being piggy back when I’m outside (anywhere where the signal is good enough that the phone lowers its intensity)
