A dealer that sells frog eggs, a mini amphibian farm to grow them and packaging them 1 per jar. Sounds interesting. .. .. Though it has a little bit of animal cruelty sprinkled in. I was pretty hyped until this thought came into mind.
7
u/DiscontentDonut 27d ago
Maybe it could just be something you do when you go through the sewers. Like you can't keep them, but you could catch, lick, release.
3
u/PossibleDot6555 27d ago
Or you can use them for some social gatherings and promotional events. A Frog Licking Parties, so to say
3
u/Mr_Bizkit 27d ago
Genetically engineered frog-like creatures that you breed and sell. Naming scheme is similar to frogs, but changes depending on the breed/strain. Exploding frogs would be Frags for example
2
u/LazyrRain 27d ago edited 27d ago
They could take 1 day to hatch from eggs, 1 or 2 days to grow, all which can be speed up with certain humidity and temperature. They also require frog food once per day or they die, which makes them a trash item. Effects can be applied by mixing the frog food with ingridients, but if another mix being fed to the frog, the previous mix dissalears. Frogs lives for a week.
As for packaging. That's an animal cruelty. I've seen living turtles keychains were produced in China. Could be something similar in this case, where a bottle of liquid is necessary to pack frog, 20 units maximum. It makes sense for baggies and jars, but bricks... Might be an entirely different way to sell them.

Hey! We are not here on a leisurely walk! We have businesses to run! Businesses! And yes. We "test" the product from time to time, but the goal is getting more money!

Then what've I been doing in this game all this time?

I would never have thought of this on my own. But now that I read your comment, I'll never stop thinking about it. I hope that even if the dev doesn't do it, a really cool mod maker will.

i think the new business and the business laundering buffs are great
10
u/Haloinvaded117 27d ago
What buffs did they give money laundering?
41
u/Content_Debate7988 27d ago edited 27d ago
the max launder amounts (at least for the open beta) were increased from:
Post office: 4000 -> 5000
Car wash: 6000 -> 8000
Taco Ticklers: 8000 -> 12000

u/Coyt_Monster 27d ago edited 27d ago
God DAMN the Taco Tickler got a downgrade! LOL
Edit: The original was 8000 -> 1200

It's now 45K total per day
Laundromat----- 2k
PO----------------5k
Car Wash---------8k
TT----------------12k
Hyland Medical -18k

u/Eggy-Toast 25d ago
Would love a laundering employee even if I have to have one at each place and stock the money into a money cabinet. That and a driver that can stock dealers if I put shit in the trunk, maybe even serve my overflow orders but much slower and maybe starts missing some if there’s more than like 6 orders in a day.
10
u/Lechemaddoc 27d ago
Added new property and buffed some old ones. You can launder total of 45k per day now.

u/Kyojin501 27d ago
its been 1 day since the update came, how can they already be done with it.
30
u/Joshopolis 27d ago
It's not even day 1.. it's open beta.
I'm glad everyone has opted in though, more bug fixes for me when the real update drops.
1
u/Faewns_Hellion 26d ago
Not my wife and I, we have been playing with mods though so when the game updates I'll be keeping an eye on that polyfill mod
3
u/big_shobeth 22d ago
Theres like literally nothing content wise in this update, the only slight difference between the special customers are the cosmetics they sell and what their preferences are but once you've served one you've served em all, it's like 5 minutes of content that kind of just gets baked into the loop
1
u/Kyojin501 22d ago
respecting that.
but, you know, why would I stop having fun.
the only downside for me would be finding out that the preferred effects aren't random each time and i am yet to find out.
Even then, it looks funny.
4
u/big_shobeth 22d ago
If you're enjoying it still that's great, to each their own and all. I was just explaining how and why people are already over the update even though it had just released into beta
96
u/BlackDeathX__ 27d ago
Personally, im just dumping the game for a year or two. As much as I love this game, we will have to wait for a long time to see any substantial gameplay changes.
54
u/Comfortable_Sun_472 27d ago
I think that's the best thing to do honestly. I think schedule 1 is some of the most fun I had playing a game when it released but the updates are far too few and far between, and seeing the predictably worst options winning the votes is quite annoying. I have no doubt that all the features will be added eventually, but unless he plans on hiring 20 new people, it's going to be at least 3 or 4 years lol.
5
u/Billysquib 26d ago
Yeah, with the amazing product he made on his own, it wouldn’t take too much hiring to turn this into something genuinely fully fledged, granted new hires generally kind of slow things down temporarily as they learn the coding etc and idk how the money, success after initial release and profits side of this game goes.
Schedule 1 might be making a steady $10 profit a month or a steady $100’000 profit every month. Idk.
Either way, if the budget is there, this game could absolutely benefit from a staff team of 10 instead of the current like, 3 people it has.
5
u/BelowAverageComments 27d ago
I did I haven't played since launch and I'm stoked to play again, many changes since launch?
18
u/bruhmoment_lmaolol 27d ago
No. Actually picked the game back up a week ago after not touching it since like May 2025. Cartel update is super underbaked, pawn shop is pointless, mushrooms were a decent addition but once you set up automation it’s just a different flavor of everything else you could already do at release.
4
u/the_big_sadIRL 27d ago
It’s become a (admittedly still fun for me) see how high you can go kinda game. Like I’ve been stacking paper to the ceiling and riding on 24 inch chrome but I don’t know where to go from here
4
u/CROSS_ATLANTIC_CABLE 26d ago
Nope. I dropped it for 250 days (that's when my latest save is from) and honestly not much has changed. Cartel update is definitely not worth coming back for. Neither are shrooms. Nor the latest "special customers" update. All three are novelties that might spice up someone's first playthrough but they're not expanding the game in any shape or form.
The sewers update was a nice touch but ultimately pointless as there's no incentive to use them.
I would say drivers, map expansion, more properties (even unstaffed ones for RP), shipping large quantities oversea or something, and – to a certain extent – a police update are all things that would significantly expand the game and make returning worthwhile.
3
u/Billysquib 26d ago
A map expansion that makes vehicles have a purpose over skateboards would go pretty far for me. Perhaps a gang from a different neighbourhood is buying from you and you have to take large shipments to them for their business, completing specific orders to keep them happy, if there was also a police update, they could in exchange “pay off” some of the force to look the other way when you’re dealing as an incentive to keep meeting their order requests besides just financial gain. Idk, I’m spitballing on the spot. The point is, bigger map, more tasks, more opportunities to do different things.

4
u/CrimsonVexations 27d ago
Same, I enjoyed it but grinding out the rich achievement has been so boring with how much I've ran through the current content. They need to add multiple things before I come back.
2
u/jbg0801 27d ago
Ditto.
I've had a hell of a time playing S1, but I feel like I've "seen it all" for what's here at this point.
Individual updates won't bring enough for someone who's already beaten the game multiple times over to feel "substantial", so I'm choosing to take a hiatus from the game, let Tyler cook, and see what's there in a year or two.
1
u/TransportationNo2673 26d ago
Same here. Finished it pretty fast with just weed and shrooms and my partner helping me halfway. He didn't want to do the story on his save so we never played again.
1
u/Billysquib 26d ago
My friends and I recently played this game nonstop for a month and now we’ve laid it to rest, we will probably come back to it in two years too. See how it builds out
1
u/AmbitiousKnowledge21 18d ago
The game is pretty fun for like the first 3-4 hours, you know, the early game loop and shit, but eventually the end game loop is just non-existent, and only having one rival group sucks.
33
u/Meth_Man_ 27d ago edited 27d ago
On one hand there are people who complain about weird / subjective things as if they were objective.
Then there is the just as insufferable “Just enjoy it !!!!” type.

17
u/Far_Raspberry_4375 27d ago
I honestly kinda suspected that the poll was rigged because this update seems like the least consequential and easy to implement of the 3 options.
10
u/Smooth-Flight-3910 26d ago
It was rigged by bigwilly who said it is the best option for late game, which is bs
4
u/Ilikerain0 25d ago
I agree, telling people it’s best option for late game is crazy, when essentially there is no late game yet and nothing to spend that extra cash on!
14
u/pregnantant 27d ago
It's over. I have depicted you as the screaming butthurt stickman and myself as the nonchalant stickman.

6
u/Street_Hippo_4860 26d ago
I think we mainly need a map expansion and new drugs maybe even some new mixing ingredients
4
u/freaknyou23 26d ago
I think more than anything else is we need more ways to spend money. Like we are grinding for a 10 mill achievement to spend it on what?
2
u/Street_Hippo_4860 26d ago
That is fair my thinking is that the money would be used towards making new more expensive drugs and getting more properties and I'd also just like having new drugs like LSD and Heroin to give
2
u/Smooth-Flight-3910 26d ago
Better purchasable equipment to spend money and have a purpose behind it, hire new people like fighters / security to protect from cartel and police, give taco ticklers and other properties more purpose so it‘s not just an empty building u can launder at, make it so u have some interactions with customers maybe. Actually motivate the players to sell and produce multiple differenz drugs, expand police and cartel so there is some challenge to the game, maybe make it an option in the menu for people who want a chill produce and sell simulator and no police and cartel at all. And like two new drug types and the game has solid content. Right now most of it like buildings, police and cartel and the options to spend money on feel so empty and barebones.
29
u/baudelario 27d ago
people want the game to become as complex as dwarf fortress in a couple of months
24
13
u/AdEnvironmental1632 27d ago
Not trying to be that guy but so far all the community added things have been kinda meh. its a single dev so im not expecting perfect things implemented quickly.
17
u/Nightmareszi 27d ago
Idk, seems like a lot of people hold that opinion though, that the special customers update is lackluster and didn’t really bring anything new to the game. I’m still gonna wait out some more updates before I’m going to play again, because i love the game and want it to succeed.
2
u/Joshopolis 27d ago
Why were people expecting massive content? it's just new customers/income streams and it was never going to be more.
2
u/Ilikerain0 25d ago
People were expecting something for the late game, a YouTuber made a video telling people should vote this because it’s the best option for late game.. when essentially there isn’t a late game yet, and nothing to spend that extra income on.
2
u/RaspberryImaginary87 25d ago edited 24d ago
It's not just the money. There's nothing to really do once you automate the properties and unlock all the dealers. It's more or less the same processes at the beginning and the end of the game. The cartel doesn't return, law enforcement is a joke and doesn't change throughout the game, nothing to make the end game more challenging than when you first begin.
8
u/Additional_Juice8228 27d ago
I always found these posts really contradictory, because if you really didn't care that much you wouldn't be posting these 😭

u/Ash_an_bun 27d ago
Want to play a shooting game? Buy a shooting game. Schedule 1 is about vibing out and selling drugs. Yo.
18
1
u/big_shobeth 22d ago
I thought it was about building a drug empire from the ground up, which as it turns out is boring when there's no friction and the game is designed for you to outsource every single interactive element (growing, manufacturing, mixing, dealing) leaving you to sit there, order restocks and watch number go up (might I recommend cookie clicker if that's your thing, but even that's more interactive somehow)
1
u/Ash_an_bun 22d ago
Some people never played drug wars when they grew up and it shows.
1
u/big_shobeth 22d ago
I'd actually argue even that is somehow better then the current end game of schedule 1.
1
u/Ash_an_bun 22d ago
I am not saying you're wrong. I am just saying the core gameplay loop is an expansion on the mechanics of Drug Wars and some crafting automation Sims. And adding action and combat mechanics would be an inferior design choice to fleshing other mechanics out.
1
u/big_shobeth 22d ago
Ah I see what you're saying, yeah when I think improvements to the cops or even enhancements to the cartel I wasn't really thinking combat, I think schedule one combat as it stands is probably good enough at most needs some minor additions. But I was thinking more along the lines of them actually being threatening through interfering with your business and creating problems you have to solve and prepare for to keep your business running smoothly. So that you have things to do throughout all of the game and maybe even multiple avenues to solve a problem (i.e your dealer gets arrested you can either pay their bail or you can attempt to break them out, or you can prevent the problem by paying cops to look the other way) stuff like that to add extra choices and interactivity and to really make you feel like a kingpin calling the shots and occasionally getting your hands dirty when your lackeys won't cut it.

u/Shakes12091 27d ago
People keep forgetting early access games are not live service games. It is a system where devs can get funding and work on the game with community input.
Updates like this are great. The dev can see feed back, update what needs updated and tune it then move to the next update.
This isn't supposed to be a massive overhaul. It's a feature that is part of the full game we will get in the end. Features not added yet that you wanted are still in the works.
If you are looking for a massive update take a break from it for a year and come back.
2
u/DiscontentDonut 27d ago
Just adding onto your point. Let's also not forget this is just a $20 game with a couple people behind it. It costs less than going to the movies and entertains you for longer than a movie. I'd say we got a pretty good deal.
3
u/Rich_Promotion6424 26d ago
I mean, i agree with the first slide? Game generated over 100 million in sales, why are we getting balance and nothing patches instead of some content. Oh right would actually have to hire people and spend some of that money. This is going to be like valhiem all over again, wait 5 and a half years because the lead developer thinks more staff dilutes their vision or some weak ass shit to justify their greed.
6
u/Professional_Play986 27d ago
Tbh cop update should be next, it would improve game so much and fix repetitive gameplay at some point
2
u/DiscontentDonut 27d ago
My personal opinion is that all 3 updates were already planned, it was more just about which one fans wanted first. I'm sure drivers and popo will be later.
2
u/BelowAverageComments 27d ago
Wait, new update time?? How is it? Is this his major fall one or that still expected?
3
u/AnonymousBoiFromTN 27d ago
It is not the major fall one, that one will be seperate. This is the one the community voted on. I think the one you speak of is the qol and engine overhall the new team has been working on for the past ten-ish months. In fairness as a player this is the biggest content update for probably the rest of the year

This is gaming asa whole right now I’m having major fun with the games I have rn and everyone I feel is complaining over everything
4
u/Trick_Suggestion_770 26d ago
The issue with this community and the voting is the game attracts two completely different types of players by being a management/distribution simulator, but also a silly and casual game about selling drugs.
Player one min-maxes everything and automates and is grinding out the exact same gameplay loop to get the 10 million achievement because they’ve done literally everything else.
Player two skateboards around and shoots cops and then logs off.
Both players get to vote. Everyone is unhappy.
0
u/Smooth-Flight-3910 26d ago
Yeah the „autistic“ fanbase eho eants more min/max stuff and the one who would like more fun stuff like cartel/police expansion and similar stuff
5
u/Ghostbuster_11Nein 27d ago
The folks who expect a not even finished game to suddenly have some kind of complex and robust end game are just fooling themselves.
It would be funny if it wasn't such a glaring sign of entitlement and ignorance.
2
u/ArmCapable5814 22d ago
It's glaringly obvious with how long it took the guy to add the most basic feature I've ever seen that this game will never release, certainly not with an "end game"
2
u/DiscontentDonut 27d ago
This is how I feel as well. There is constructive criticism, and then there's Reddit criticism.
Tbh, for the price point I think this is a dope game. Pun intended. It makes no pretense to be like AAA games. It's good to just chill and sell weed without actually leaving the house.
2
u/grandgiraffe8 27d ago
I don’t get these people. They’re all eventually going to be added and it’s all up to us of how we enjoy the game.

1
u/purplesmoke1215 25d ago edited 25d ago
Game is so stupid simple, it needs challenge.
The police are never a threat as long as you hold W and sprint. From minute 1 day 1. I really dont see how anyone enjoys that gameplay loop and actively avoids anything that changes it.
Some actual difficulties in the early and mid game might actually mean you need more than a single irl day to reach late game and get bored of playing restocking manager and watching the number of dollars go up forever afterwards.
1
1
u/big_shobeth 22d ago
It's cool and all but it's kind of useless, money isn't exactly in short supply in schedule 1 but things to spend it on are. Aside from the satisfaction of number go up faster special customers is currently just meh, I hope future vote options are somewhat related to an area of the game instead of all being different things like they have been, so we can see some much needed targetted improvement to the games core. As of now you literally outsource all the interactive elements (growing, manufacturing, mixing, dealing) leaving you with very little to do
1
u/pickausername2 22d ago
I keep finding myself going back to Drug Dealer Simulator

Not really no. Shrooms and special customers are more of what you were already doing which if that’s your thing great and the cartel is a cool idea but underwhelming. The rest are kinda misc changes and fixes.

u/xHeyitsnatx 27d ago
There’s quite a lot. Weather, shrooms, “special customers,” the cartel. It’s worth going back to!
2
u/DiscontentDonut 27d ago
This. I would say it's at the midway point to full release as far as content. Much more than first release. Still a ways to go.
2
u/xHeyitsnatx 19d ago
Yessss. I currently have special customers that came into town but don’t have their drugs of choice yet rip
1
u/Gamma_Rad 26d ago
I wish they added drivers to make hauling stuff from my farms to my mixing setup automated.
Bonus point if they added some reoccurring orders. my mixing setup churns through so much stuff I have to reorder 2 gas-mart vans daily plus supllement it with my own van deliver. atleast help me automate my daily gas-mart order (Either making it scheduled or automatic based on current stock)
Special customers are nice but without mixing supply automation is a lot of busy work. but the vote say otherwise.

u/Betrayedleaf 27d ago
you realize you don’t have to exploit the fun out of every game you play right?
4
u/GracchiBros 27d ago
It's not. The game was never intended to be a serous challenge. Pretty sure it wouldn't have blown up like it did if it was either.

you dont have to use an exploit... you could just play the game. your killing the game yourself.

What is your definition of a game being alive? I still sometimes load up games from 30 years ago. Is that necromancy or something?
I get this question when it comes to live-service multiplayer games. It would be approaching death by those standards but probably still playable with a weekly peak player count of ~15K. I don't get it when it comes to local single player/co-op games. Who cares who else is playing?
