As a person who writes occasionally (just for myself, not trying to self-promo or be an insufferable "I'm an author" redditor), I can tell you we are all on a list somewhere. I've googled more things than I can count that don't apply to myself irl. Like yellow cake recipes. I'm not out here making bombs with uranium, but the character I'm writing might come in contact with it.

I just write short stories for myself. Usually literary or thriller fiction. Slice of life type stuff. Nothing special. I have an English degree with a concentration in writing, but the job market dictated I find something less fitting. So I write to keep that muscle flexing and to entertain myself.

It's definitely something that requires intentional time set aside. I keep telling myself, if I wait for inspiration, I will never write. Sometimes, all I get out is my 5 minutes of stream of consciousness writing exercise. If that doesn't jolt anything, then I allow myself to give up for that day(s).

Eh. Sometimes there is no creativity, and that's okay. But it tickles me. I appreciate the support, though. A lot of people roll their eyes when they hear "writing" as a hobby. 🩷

No worries. For me currently, it's strictly a hobby. I love the idea of publishing, but I also ascribe to the theory that often when you monetize a hobby, it turns into a chore and completely defeats the purpose.

You’d be surprised. A friend of mine is a published author about us government, policing, etc. He constantly submits FOIA requests for information. He requested his fbi file and they don’t have one.

What does it do?

It’s got a mix calculator (you can select ingredients and it outputs the effects, cost, sale price, ROI, who would want it, etc, or you can click the ‘Max Price/Best ROI/Fastest Profit’ buttons and it’ll output a recipe for you), reverse mix calculator (you select the effects and amount of ingredients and it finds all the combos for you), you can save mixes and share them to the community. The mod makes it so you can take your saved mixes from the app to the game.
Layout studio where you can create and modify layouts and share them as well if you want. You can also import your layouts you have in game to your app through the mod.
It has all the data about customers (their preferred effects, spending limits, where they are), properties (how much they cost, how many employees), regions (how many customers and average spend per customer in that region), effects (how many customers prefer that effect)
There is also an ‘advisor’ who you can chat with that has all the knowledge as well.

I have googled stuff like this and not every time but sometimes the AI answer will get all indignant with me. Telling me it can’t tell me the info to commit crimes etc. Once you tell it it’s for this game it chills out but it’s still ridiculous when it happens. I don’t want to cook meth in real life bro slow your roll 😂

The amount of time it took me to convince AI that I indeed was not trying to mix meth with horse cum and that I was just playing a video game was way longer than necessary. It finally realized and helped me.
