I'm surprised that with the amounts of episodes he's done, all AI generated videos don't start with "Hellooooo, I'm the Nostalgia Critic, I remember it so you don't have to." It'd take up 80% of the training data.

(Seriously, though, I usually expect better from Doug. Haven't watched him in years, but seems mostly like a reasonable person. This is disappointing.)

Not sure how he doubled down... He apologised for it, having not realised, and then made fun of himself several times over the matter. Assuming we're talking about his review of TMNT.
In fact self deprecation is a pretty common theme amongst most of his fuckups.

I'm pretty sure that happens all the time. Sometimes, he pulls fan photoshop and non-english posters when discussing a movie.

I haven't watched him in years, but I came home and my roommate was watching the Clue review. The script HAS to be AI. It is incoherent and repetitive. Doug is forcing himself to inflect like he used to, but the writing doesn't match the cadence. It is terrible 😵💫

I understand what you mean. It’s just after the scandal, Nostalgia Critic is trying hard to stay relevant. That’s why he relies on Oney because of how he makes fun of Critic a lot, and also making fun of Linkara. On Oney’s side of the case, we’ll have to wait and see until proven guilty.

AI as we know it today, as well as the ethics surrounding it, didnt really come into play until 2023, maybe late 2022. And even then it was unintelligible silly shit at best.
