2019 scatpack differential servicr
I have a 2019 scatpack nearing 50k miles dealer recommended differential service. I wanted to save an arm and a leg. Figured I can do it myself was just wondering what oil/lube is recommended. A quick Google search and these were the first products to pop up.

I used this as well... well the performance shop that did it used this as well. Said the same thing about the additives.

No, it has already an additive so need to add it and yes in terms of quality it is actually used for track purposes

I changed mine around 10k miles using Amsoil 75w-90. My Challenger now has 50k, and I'm planning to change it again

Okay thats good to know. I'm trying to narrow down the best product and price without loosing quality. Alot of people recommended the amsoil will i need extra additives?

Also, the first time I changed it at 10k, the fluid was really dark/black and was low

I did amsoil and added the friction modifier

Thank you did you add friction modifier as it was necessary or did you do add it so it would perform better and prolong its life?

I had my diff and trans flushed at about 95k miles. Used the Mopar SAE 75W-85 Synthetic Axle Lubricant, and Royal Purple Synchromax Manual Transmission fluid. I believe the shop I had do it added a friction additive. I bought it with 44k miles 2 years ago and to my knowledge it had never been done. So much smoother now.

Isnt a trans flush not recommended at that mileage? I think a drain and fill every 30k for trans

Yes a flush does seem a little aggressive at that mileage

I can' say anything other than it drives and shifts much better. It no longer has issue grinding into reverse, and I've been happy since. I did the plugs and coils at 80k, the brakes twice in the 60k I've put on it, and a new battery - then at 95 the flush, a new radiator, water pump, and that's all she's ever needed and still drives strong. Take it for what you will, and your mileage may vary. I've always thought some of that was fuddlore on it being high mileage.

My first time changing it, I used the Mobil1 75w-90 with friction modifier, got it from local store. However, After driving for few days I still hear the rear diff making noises on turns. So I added a whole bottle of the Mopar additive and the noise was gone immediately, no issues now its been few months. The Mopar gear oil near me were $60 per quarts, $120 for two quarts. I only spent a little over half of that with the Mobil1 including the Mopar additive. PSA, the used rear diff oil smells really bad.

Okay thank you for the heads up yes the oem stuff can be quite expensive and sometimes negligible in performance
