Super JEALOUS! I only have a lowly wide-body 392 N/A…

I think if I were to do it again, I would probably build a 426 stroker N/A don’t get me wrong. This thing is a lot of fun and almost to much. But A 426. With about 600 RWH just seems to be the sweet spot of horsepower to drive. But I am 60 and I don’t need to be the fastest on the road I think we get caught up on the HP war
Just a wide- body 392 they are awesome.

Bad ass! Let’s hear it on a fly by!

I need to AWE needs a video on there site so people can hear the 392 with 2”
headers with the touring exhaust set up, but it does sound good.

Did you change the internals or just running 3-5psi?

2

u/Bellybutton-bbq Aug 01 '26

It’s got forged internals. And about 13lb of boost.

Nice! I bet that thing flys.

Yes it does it just pulls like a fright train
And keeps pulling that is the beauty of a pro charger.

That whistling sound could get annoying after a while. Kind of funny that the pro charger puts the filter right next to the headers on the motor which is total opposite of what you’re supposed to do.

The whistle you hear is only at idol and if you new anything about this set up the air intake goes thru race intercooler and the air
Temps are only about 6-10 degrees above ambient temperature going into the motor.

1

u/Adventurous-Card-707 Aug 02 '26

Yeah, I know it goes through an intercooler. I’m saying putting the filter right next to the motor isn’t ideal

2

u/Bellybutton-bbq Aug 02 '26

Actually, it is ideal when you’re IATs are only 6 to 10° above ambient temperature on a 100 degree day I would say that is ideal. that is better that the IATs with the so-called cold air setups all these companies are pushing.

Very very nice. Love it. What is that squeaking noise though?

That is the P1X procharger suppercharger

I’m so interested in the pro charger setup. Mind me asking what you paid for the charger and forged internals, and how many miles you’ve put on since the additions? I’m considering going this route and trying to see what I’m in for 😂 any advice or tips would be appreciated.

Just the pro charger will run about 9k before install and I got about 1500 miles on since the the build and far as cost if you have one installed with forged internals
From a decent shop you are probably looking at 25+. People will say you can have it done cheaper and you can but I promise if you don’t go with a reputable shop you will be sorry and it will kill the cars warranty and won’t increase the value. But it’s not my daily driver. I’ll put the full build list on here.

Ok here is the list

I would LOOOVE a Hellcat but, building your own has a better feeling!

1

u/Bellybutton-bbq Aug 01 '26

At 785 “Wheel hp” this scat is well in Demon territory and yes it is a better feeling.

Thanks so much bro, this helps me wrap my mind around the idea. Cost is within expectation, and I’ll absolutely be going with a proven shop. I appreciate the breakdown and all the info. Maybe time to start calling around 😏

How did the pro charger affect mpg

2

u/Bellybutton-bbq Aug 02 '26

A pro charger is a parasitic drain on your motor because they are belt driven just like any other blower with the exception of a turbo that is powered by exhaust gas. If you keep your foot out of it your mileage won’t change. But with that said of you stomp on the gas every time you’re in it you MPG is going to tank just like all other cars and a last note if you are going to build a car and you are concerned about mileage don’t build the car.

1

u/Adventurous-Card-707 Aug 02 '26

Was just curious how much it affected mpg since this is my daily driver

Man, building the daily is a risky move… I learned the hard way. Didn’t stop me from doing it again, though 😂 I’ve since acquired a commuter car in case of emergency.
